This is why the draw is SO important in some regions. Boyd wins the 64th and they could have very easily ended up in the championship game. They lose, get a tough 1st round game and out in the 1st round.

 

Congrats to Boyd on a nice season. Elliott Co moves on and barring an upset should be in the championship game.

Way to go ELLIOTT... Bigger floor proved to much for Boyd. Elliott has a lot of depth and get up and down the floor for 32 minutes every game. Heart breaking for Boyd being up at the half but I'm sure coach Pratt told his kids it isn't over yet in the locker room. Great game for both teams. Good Luck and see everyone in Morehead on Saturday.

EC has some impressive young talent who played great team ball tonight.

I attended the game and I think the better team just prevailed. It was a good effort by Boyd, but they got into a situation were they were forced to try full court pressure and things went downhill fast. Selby is a force inside, the left handed kid hit some big shots, and #3 hit some big 3's. Elliott was just too much in the 2nd half - once their shots started falling. I would guess (don't know any stats) that one of the Faulkners, the tall Knipp, Maynard, and Ferguson were all in double digits - but don't know for sure.

 

I think that a scary site would be the lone defender back on defense with both Faulkners and Ferguson coming at you full speed. They are tough in the open court!

Elliott shot poorly in the first half and only trailed by one. The shots started falling and Boyd simply ran out of gas midway through the third quarter. Conditioning was a key and Boyd was not in condition. Elliott just ran around them in the second half. When Boyd tried to press Elliott shot a bunch of layups. Boyd's pressure left when they lost their legs and couldn't keep up. Timmy Knipp is going to be a great player. He had three key blocks in the second half along with the three big three pointers.

Boyd County was in control of this game and led practically the whole game until Selby picked up his 3rd foul with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd, Boyd was leading 24-20 and Elliot immediately went on a 7-0 run before Pratt could get Selby back in. That started the Fall, and Timmy Knipp pushed them off the cliff. Knipp may have the best 3 ball on the team:scared:

Boyd also had a lot of problems with the Elliot press the second half and missed some very close shots, bottom line, Elliot found a way to win

not bad for a bunch of baby faces:D
