  1. I don't think it can be quantified how difficult the situation has been at East the last few years. Not having facilities and dealing with constant upheaval makes it difficult for a program to maintain and grow. I anticipate the Raiders will be improved by default considering there will be now be consistency of routine and stability in and around the program.
  2. B-H owns Fruit, Russell, and half of America....: Spalding is owned by Russell Brands LLc.
  3. Rawlings is not owned by Berkshire-Hathaway. It is owned by Newell brands. Spalding is owned by Berhshire-Hathaway who owns Russell, Fruit, etc...
  4. It's always good to go with a person's perception of things over actual empirical evidence when making a point.
  5. Decline in attendance? Under 6 class system: At Papa Johns Total Attendance: 2007----46620 (St. X and Trinity accounted for 15,696) 2008----34773 At WKU: 2009-----37339 2010-----47759 2011-----40160 2012-----46738 2013-----24188 (Weather was absolutely awful. Snow and Ice) 2014-----41937 2015-----44022 (Those schedule changes really screwed attendance, huh?) The game is better attended at WKU. It is a better venue for the players and coaches. It just happens to be in the Western part of the state and some folks will never be happy about that.
  6. Warren East High School is currently undergoing major renovations of it's sports facilities including a new turf field. East signed an agreement with Boise State and became one of only 5 high schools in America to have blue turf. It was put down over the last week or so and it is stunning!
  7. Edmonson County to name head coach this morning. Rumor has it that it will be the current middle school coach.
  8. Do you really think that Trinity is the only school in the state that works and prepares like this? Give me a break....
  9. Rick Woods from Glasgow has stepped down. Great Coach.
  10. Per the Glasgow Daily Times, you can add Barren County to the list.
  11. Local Legend. Deal Closer. Play Caller. Dynamic Human Being. I'd hire him in a heartbeat.
  12. To answer tho original question: Without first round games, you could never have second round games. Duh.
  13. BG 94-GW-2 The Greenwood defense starts the game off with a safety. It's all downhill from there.
  14. I must say this: I was wrong about South. They are the best team in 3A and should win it.
  15. Maybe you should take a note from the BG people and coaching staff. They got beat and they took their loss in stride. No grandstanding. No whining in the media. They simply moved on. That's why BG has multiple championships and Blackmon always finds a way to gag on it in November.
  16. Bowling Green would have slapped Highlands a new one in 2011. I would argue that the 2011 team was the best team of the streak era. Ask John Hardin about that team. The 2011 Highlands team saw Franklin-Simpson go up and down the field on them, they just couldn't finish drives.
  17. I am trying to put together a list of scrimmages for Western Kentucky teams. Please Post here if know match ups and times: Hopkinsville Christian County Madisonville Owensboro Catholic Daviess County Appollo Tilghman McCracken Caldwell Etc....
  18. Last year will be the best team that South Warren puts on the field for a long time. They had 4 legitimate All State players on the same team and couldn't make it out of the west in a weak class. Powerhouse I tell you!
  19. Actually, they lost as Freshmen to Owensboro who they played twice that year. They exacted their revenge in the second go round.
  20. Add Greenwood to the list. And, the most important dynamic of Platooning is this: Player Development. There are kids at schools that platoon that contribute at a high level their Junior and Senior years that would have been written off as non players at other schools as freshmen. When you do the same thing, everyday multiple years, you tend to get good at it.
  21. I will affirm what R3 said. Coach Seabolt has a very good pedigree. He worked under Ed Smart at Grayson County and Coach Smart may be the most underrated coach in the state. Of course, his Bowling Green experience speaks for its self. Bowling Green's offensive line became markedly better under his leadership. Also, I am not sure that people outside of BG have an idea about the depth of the BG coaching staff. During the last two seasons, BG had 3 former head coaches on it's staff and two former coordinators (including Coach Seabolt). Not to mention that the rest of the staff is incredibly experienced and sharp. There is a lot of coaching talent in that locker room.
