Keys for Ashland: The run defense has to show up. They have played the run well this year and must continue. Offensively they have to find a way to expose JC crowding the box and LOS. Greenup had success with 9 in the box and all within 5 yards of the football. They should expect JC to do the same but be better at it. If Ashland wins it will be a low scoring game.

Ashland played against Newport and Smith when both were sophomores. I believe Newport won that game but Baker lot them up.

Quinton Baker is faster than Jacob Smith and I don't even know who Jacob Smith is.

Johnson Central is the favorite based on the recent success they have had. I can't help but think that this Ashland team is the same team that had the ball down 1 possession it's 6 minutes to go against eventual state champ Highlands on the road last year. They own a victory over the 2nd ranked WV large school this year. I don't know what clicked with these kids but I feel they are better than most would think.

No two coaches would do the same thing with personnel and we don't have the privilege of seeing all that goes on. That being said i think Ashland is 8-0 at this point no matter who played QB and I don't think teams that are run only fare well against JC. Belfry got beat 35-0 last year and won the 3A title. Also Greenups only TD drive was via the air. This and the probable second one are the games that Ashland has to win and I believe they have reduced their odds. Maybe the fact that Baker is so special is enough. We will see.

To me it looked like OBryan had to slow down and try to make a play on the ball. The defender was beaten but was able to catch up and get his arm between OBryan's and when they went to the ground he ended up with it.

Greenup is good defensively but has trouble scoring. I see this and a 28-35 to 6-8 kinda score

I would split him out by himself and dare people to cover him man. You know they are gonna stack the box and that would leave someone on the island with him. They would lose the bump and run and he would gain 6 or 7 if they gave a cushion.

Like him or not Matney wins and don't start the weak schedule talk because he beats Ashland regularly and was on par with Cov Cath in the last ten years.

Happy that West is having a good season but fans be careful because the county tide will swing it always has. This is East vs Ashland however and it is a mismatch with East moving up this year. I wonder how much thought was given to not playing a district schedule and gaining some momentum. If you combined the Carter County schools they would be a lot better than you think.

Best part of the game was when Ashland had 2 and 8 at the end of the first quarter and when they got over the ball to start the second quarter it was 2 and 2.
