  1. Did anyone notice how accurate Ashalnds kick offs were? It looked like someone finally took a soccer player and said just kick it like a soccer ball. His three kick offs had the pace and accuracy of a good soccer player playing soccer. Does anyone realize how close Ashland came to recovering the last one? He popped the ball into a void in Racelands return alignment and had the ball checked up not bounced right the Ashland kid would have recovered it easily.
  2. Glad you recognize posts that have merit.
  3. So Brown missed all summer workouts and all of camp and practice and is now back in time to go helmets only for the required number of practices and be ready for the first game? Sounds like he belongs the the Allen Iverson "it's just practice" club.
  4. I would say Don't worry about Ben. I figure he is going to have a tough decision to make in a about 15 months.
  5. In last years regional tourney at Greenup Plank was 90 in the first and still 90 in the 6th. Jordan was 86-88. From watching both live Plank has a little more velocity Jordan is a more complete pitcher. Another thing for Jordan is his length. His release point is probably over a foot closer to the plate than Plank which makes up for the 2-4 mph velocity difference. I believe both get drafted out of high school. Plank is a senior Jordan is a junior.
  6. Hanshaw threw and I would guess he is their 4 at best behind Jordan Johnson and Rose.
  7. Greenup returns all from a final four team and West returns nearly everyone from a regional semi-finalist and have a true #1 arm. Everyone else will be searching for arms and consistency.
  8. Had the privilege of watching this one. Elliott did a nice job of coming out the second half and applying just enough pressure to disrupt West rhythm and speed up the game. Porter dropped to the baseline and continually drove baseline and fed players for open looks. West didn't counter the in game adjustment and thus gave up a halftime lead and ultimately the game.
  9. i have a son who will get the opportunity to play D1. His offers came from the school's camp not the combines. We went to the free combines to measure his athleticism against other kids in a big pond. Bottom line is D1 schools want to see him in person. He was told more than once they didn't expect to him to actually be 6 3 barefooted. I think schools take notice of the combine results but you can't beat film and a personal appearance.
  10. Drew OBryan. WKU.
  11. If it is on 15 carries or he is a lineman.
  12. Good to see a few names that hadn't surfaced on any other lists so far.
  13. Again what should the formula be?
  14. Just thinking out loud but instead of by class, maybe the AP abound divide the state into 4 regions and appoint a committee in each region to meet and select a first and second team from each region. While the title would change from All State to All State Reguon X for example it would ensure that all the players in the state would have equal opportunity to be selected.
  15. And farther than his dad.
  16. The different teams give kids multiple opportunities to be honored. While one team may have coverage problems in an area the other hopefully pick them up.
  17. If you were gonna make it more fair, where would you start?
  18. Not making a joke. Asking legitimate questions. Seems like there is a problem and No one wants to offer a solution. Congrats to your son. I hope he gets the opportunity to continue playing if he is a senior. I offered an idea for a solution on one of these threads. I think the coaches and or KHSAA name an all state team by class. I would advise that if you have a daughter and she enters beauty pageants the judging will be worse than this.
  19. my question was who is to blame? answer? Also who on the list shouldn't be there? What should the criteria be for an all state selection other than go to school in the state?
  20. If the sponsor of these polls have a selection process and the process isn't followed by voters not submitting votes who should the blame fall on?

    Braden Brown - West Carter
  22. Third quarter GRC trapped out of 1-3-1. Ashland coach made an adjustment and moved Villers to the baseline and when the ball was reversed he was open for a short corner jumper or drive to the rim.
  23. Not sure of his environment but he can play. A very good athlete. He is a potential next level guy somewhere if he can get some things worked out. Could make a difference in his life.
