Had a chance to see Ashland play a few times and it seems like the have no continuity, they play about 10 deep with the 10th guy getting about around 7 minutes of play. Must not be much difference in the 10 players for the 5th sub to play almost an entire quarter.

If Ashland can expose the lack of depth for Russell they will win.

A good leader grooms his heir. I believe that the answer will come from within. Under coach Hart they were able to split the last four with Ironton And be competitive against Belfry and JC every year while they have not been a legitatw contender for their class they are better than mediocre

I guess I classify turnovers as take aways. The motion penalty was self induced. I don't question which team was better. I was just making the point that Ashland had an opportunity to make it a little more interesting. You can't tell me that you wouldn't have been a little worried if you were down 20 - 8 with 6 minutes left in the 3rd.

Would liked to have seen what would have transpired if the tackle from Ashland didn't false start on their last posession of the half (not counting taking a knee) At that point in the game Ashland led 13 - 8 and there was about 1:50 left on the game clock. It was 3rd and 3 and the ball was on the Highlands 43. That penalty stopped the clock and Ashland was forced to punt after a 3rd and 8 play. Highlands took the lead here and led 16 13 at the half. If Ashland leads at half and carries that over to the first posession of the second half, Highland could have been down 2 scores with about 1.5 quarters to play. Without momentum. As it was I am sure the fact that he was physically worn played a part in his mental error. Highland is much deeper and therefore better. May have only mattered in the margin of victory. Would have made it somewhat interesting if that play doesnt tip in their favor.

This game will be decided by turnovers. Last year's game was the same. Whoever holds on to the football will win. If there are no turnovers, I will take tails.

On paper, I agree that Ashland was a better team last year. I believe that in the passing game Withrow is the difference. His size and hands made it tought to defend him. On the field, I think this Ashland team is better for reasons that are not quantified in stats. I think the commitment to team goals is greater. I don't think Baker would have been transitioned as easily. Just my stinky opinions though. I say in January when all the dust has settled on this season maybe we can discuss who did what. This team will have to do things like win at Tank and win more than one playoff game if they want to be in that argument. It will be interesting to see.

Whatever rules are in place at whatever time will fail if people don't become honest and ethical. To manipulate a rule for an advantage is not ethical. To fabricate an address or a move is unethical. Actually it is lying. I am not accusing Fairview of anything unethical or illegal, I am making a general statement.

Ashland JV played Rowan yesterday, not Raceland.

Congrats to a great young man and a superb athlete. His hard work in the classroom and on the field have allowed him to reach his goal. There will be those that doubt his ability to play at that level, I hope he uses those folks and their comments as motivation to succeed. I am a fan.
