Also NCC's athletes at every position will spread the wealth so MacDonalds number may be diluted. Back to the thread. I am not a fan of state wide rankings. Hard enough to rank a district or a region. Especially pre season before any team has played a real game. It will be a great year for hoops with lots of surprises!

Give 1A Holy Cross credit for a tough schedule so far Holmes, Simon Kenton, Beechwood and Scott. It has resulted on a 0-4 start but I expect a victory this weekend.

Don't discount the loss of floor leader Bueter and defensive lock down play of Seibert. But add the 2 kids mentioned as well as another year for the 3 returning starters and that leaves NCC in a great place this year. They will be VERY good.

I think if small schools like Holy Cross, Dayton, Bellevue etc can hold on than no one need worry about NCC. Granted NCC has a better tradition of winning, but talent comes and goes. Were there a few years in the 90's when NCC didn't compete like they normally do? I don't think the talent level coming up is as strong as the past few years have been, and I'm not talking about the pipeline for NCC, I'm talking about NKY overall. NCC will continue their winning tradition.

First of all Q does not make the rules, the KHSAA does and I'd never trust the decision making process of the KHSAA. I could see them turning a blind eye on ridiculous transfers and than making an issue of something as stupid as an open gym. The only problem I see with yours is that you said these were not "open" gyms, kids had to be invited. I've seen your videos they are definitely not team A vs. team B. They are random kids playing hoops against each other, exactly what open gyms should be. I have no issues, but than again I don't sit on the KHSAA board.

Is it just me or does anyone find it overkill that we are now getting game reports, player reviews and videos for open gyms? I love the coverage by Walter and they hype that he is creating for his cronies. But I don't think NBA players get this type of coverage in the off season. I have to admit it does make me crave for the season to actually start. When the games actually do matter.

If he can hit the 3 it will be a real match up issue for teams. You can bring him to the perimeter and still have Schulte and Weyer underneath.

I honestly don't see much of the 10th south of Campbell County, but I like Code's style better than the "in your face" Carr style. Both are very effective and both get the most out of their players.

Ok, so other than the 3 or so you mentioned, you are thinking that even though the other kids are getting D1 interest, they are really not of that caliber. I guess where I was going was that being where NKU currently ranks in the pecking order of D1 schools, they would or could take a flyer on a local kid. I'm Sort of on the same page in a way. My point was I don't think NKU has the pick of the litter at this time for getting who they want. Hopefully it changes in a few years and they become a great D1 program. I think the Schulte kid does have the size and agility to play D1. He would be my pick after Hatton and Boldon.

What is "that level"? A second year D1 program that plays in the Atlantic Sun?? That conference, which was founded in 1978, has had 17 bids to the NCAA tournament (Only 4 teams have represented the conference). Followed only by America East and Summit as the fewest. So you are telling me the other kids mentioned at not good enough to play at "that level"? do you mean at any D1 school or in a conference/team that is as good as NKU?:idunno:
