No Burns from BB? Also the kid that ended up starting center for MoCo. His name escapes me at the moment. Will Wallace and Piersawl return to MoCo?

On a side note it is Khmarkis Blanton for GRC.

Sorry for the mispelling of Mr. Blanton's name. Really like him as a player.

Thought about putting Burns in, but on a personal opinion I like Matt Wilson more than him. I think his ceiling is much higher. Burns is a good player though.

6'8" Shelby Combs will be a sophomore for Montgomery County this season. With his big body (300+ lbs.) I could see him starting along with Wallace, Piersawl, Jones and Chase Hall.

They also have a kid that looks like Omar Prewitt kind of. He will be a key contributor as well.

No doubt, Montgomery County is favorited to win the region.

Kid from Paris is Kobe Garrad. I forgot his first name. He averaged 16.7 PPG last season for the Greyhounds and has a bright future.

No problem on Khmarkis, agree with you he should be one of the top players in the region this year.

Paris started 4 Freshman last year. Really look for them to improve with a year of experience under their belt.

Chase Hall was the starting center for Montgomery Co. I though he played really well the second half of the season. Solid athlete and rebounded well. He doesn't have center size though as he was probably only 6'3" 180lb last year. He will be a junior this year.

I believe Wallace and Piersawl both played summer ball with the Indians.

Good work FatNate! :thumb:

On the players, I would probably have Holbrook lower--around the 4-6 range. Bach is my #1 & then I have a hard time choosing between Shawn Johnson & Alex Trentman, but they would be 2-3. Wallace goes at #4 & then probably Holbrook at #5. I like where you have Blanton ranked, but he has the potential to be the best big man in the region because no one can match his strength in the paint. Piersawl & Dre Jackson are two players that I think could have breakout seasons in 2013-14. But I think your top 10 players are probably the same 10 I would have, just in different order. One other player...keep an eye on Bracken County freshman Austin Crawford. He's the real deal & I'm told he had a monster summer.

Ranking the teams, at least the top 6-7, is difficult. But I do think those top 7 you have are the best. By the time the 10th Region tourney comes around, I think 3 or 4 teams will be legitimate contenders to win the whole thing. Should be the most wide open 10th Region field we've seen in a while.

Great stuff, my man! :thumb:

I have to agree with Goldie on this one. Wilson averaged 6 pts per game and 6.9 boards. Burns was 11 pts and 5.7 boards.

Also intersting to see that Fatnate had 2 Camp co. kids mentioned in his top 11 and only one Brossart kid yet had Brossart 2nd and Camp Co. 4th?

I'm sure Dre Jackson would like to think his 10.6 PPG and 2.6 RBs would get him some love. Than again Wilson, after only playing a year, was in Fatnate's top players for the Camels for the last 10 years.

Overall a Solid list of players and I'm sure some were missed and some will rise to the top. I agree Mo Co. has the best shot at taking the crown, but it will be a little more interesting than last years dominance by them.

Thanks RP!

Pre-Season rankings don't mean anything, but they sure are fun to play around with. I would much rather be ranked higher in March than in July or August!

Outside of Montgomery County, I think the 10th Region is pretty wide open.

Outside of Brent Bach, I think the 2nd best player is pretty wide open as well.

I gave Holbrook the number 2 ranking because he averaged 20+ PPG last year and I saw him score 40+ points in a summer league game.

Austin Crawford could very well be a top 10 player by 2014. The kid has a bright future!

The only player I feel guilty about leaving out is Dre Jackson from Campbell County. He averaged 10 PPG last season and should have a good season. He just needs to be more consistent. A very tough-nosed defender gives him too much trouble.

I think Bach has separated himself from the rest of the region. I'm a little surprised to see that you (and TAC) think Montgomery is a step ahead of other squads. Losing Osborne, Omar & Tyler Jones will be very tough. Of course, Brossart lost Saunders & Uebel. Harrison County lost Kendall. Augusta lost Tanner Kelsch. I think of all the contenders for 2013-14, Mason County has to replace the least. Additionally, they'll return one of their top players in Jake O'Mara whose season was cut short by injury last year.

Also agree that these types of rankings mean nothing, but it is fun to see what everyone else thinks.

Glad you brought his name up,people have totally forgot about him. He didn't play in the Augusta game last year or they win that game. If him,Johnson and Henry play to their expectations and guards knock down shots the 10th is Mason's to lose, with Campbell a close second. Am still anxious to see how Montgomery's players adapt to their new Coach

Not sure if I'd go so far to say that Mason beats Augusta with O'Mara, but he no doubt makes a difference.

Totally agree with the point you make about Montgomery. It's why I'm reluctant to put them at the top of the 10th.

Mid January Schedules will be interesting to see for the tops teams. Montgomery will have a strong lineup but will they have the support players to make it a Regional repeat? It will be interesting to see.

I think the team that will surprise everyone will be Campbell County.

Thanks, yes Chase Hall is the kid I was referring to. Believe he was hurt the first of the season but once he got back on the court he was a starter. Expect him to be in the top 10 this year. Just great all round athlete.

Burns would be in my top 10 too. I really like his game.
