Don't discount the loss of floor leader Bueter and defensive lock down play of Seibert. But add the 2 kids mentioned as well as another year for the 3 returning starters and that leaves NCC in a great place this year. They will be VERY good.

Now that NCC has a coach, I see them in Rupp in March. Team is loaded with talent. They will bring kids off their bench that could start for 95% on the ninth region teams.

They could've / should've won the region the last 3 years.... They've had the talent to do so.... I'd be surprised if they didn't win it the next two years.

Yes, wasn't a fan. Felt he had the talent to win the ninth the last three years and he didn't win one.

Three years ago Dixie was loaded. To say that NewCath should have defeated them is a real stretch.

The next year they couldn't buy a basket. If you remember correctly, NewCath was down by 2 and Hightchew was on his way to a break away lay-up, only to trip over a teammate. Boone got the ball back, miss a shot, and then on a long rebound hit a huge 3. 5 pt. swing and really the game. I'm not sure how that one was his fault. Last year they lost to Holmes. Holmes took the eventual state champs into overtime.

Newcath should have the best starting 5 in the region this year.

 

Two top 5 players in Schulte/McDonald.

One of the best pg's in the state for his class in Zack Pangallo.

Two solid all around players in the Moeves brothers.

 

Biggest questions to be answered are depth and 3 point shooting. The Moeves brothers bring an outside presence that the Breds didn't really have without them but consistency will be the key for both. Both are great at getting to the rim, but a consistent outside shot will separate the Breds from others because of teams not being able to double inside.

 

As far as their depth goes...I think they have talent in Franzen, Jake Smith, and Weyer but those guys are unproven for the most part. They will need to get consistent play from the bench this year if they are going to make a run at not only getting to Rupp but making some noise while they are there.

 

Regardless, the Breds have the talent to be a top 2 team in the region when the preseason rankings come out. The game against Dixie early should give us a really good idea of where both teams stand.

I sat behind him, watched and listened to him a few games last year. Loved his play calling. I have a lot of respect for him as a coach. We will see what he makes of the talent level at Walton.

I loved Walter's review. Pretty much spot on.

Good luck to the Breds this year. They are a very talented squad and well coached. Expect a great season and lots of college coaches watching them this year.
