Who Ya Taking? KAT or Okafor?
kyyank replied to Clyde's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
Even if KAT is not dominant, he will be a serviceable center who will be in the NBA for years. With guys like Okafor, he's either a star or bust. KAT is safer pick actually. -
Why remake a classic? Also, I don't get the Ethan Hawke thing. He's never in much I would watch.

Netanyahu speech to joint session of Congress today.
kyyank replied to Bluegrasscard's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
Take Barack Obama. He has gone from mild displeasure with Israel to downright antipathy. Suddenly we are in a surreal world where off-the-record slurs from the administration against Benjamin Netanyahu as a coward and chicken-t have gone to full-fledged attacks from John Kerry and Susan Rice, to efforts of former Obama political operatives to defeat the Israeli prime minister at the polls, to concessions to Iran and to indifference about the attacks on Jews in Paris. Who would have believed that Iranian leaders who just ordered bombing runs on a mock U.S. carrier could be treated with more deference than the prime minister of Israel? What started out six years as pressure on Israel to dismantle so-called settlements has ended up with a full-fledged vendetta against a foreign head of state. -

CPAC - Carnival of Clowns !
kyyank replied to Science Friction's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
To further my point, if the party can't coherently message the following, then they don't deserve to win: Allowing the democratic president to betray Israel on Iran (if they can't swing any significant portion of the Jewish vote, shame on them) Allowing Iran to spread their wars to Syria, Jordan, Yemen, etal. Allowing all the limited growth of jobs to go to illegal immigrants, suppressing wages (the unions should love this one) Growth in illegal immigration, absurd executive order Significant growth in poverty Significant growth in spending has done nothing to improve economy but put us further in debt Obamacare- Where do we start? Hilary- Russia, Benghazi, Bill, where do you want to start, she is a failed statesmen who will represent us on the world stage as our #1 , still can't be worse than Obama. -
CPAC - Carnival of Clowns !
kyyank replied to Science Friction's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
It's not a matter of being electable, the party is struggling to message anything. Part of this is based on having nothing positive to message. This should be a ripe time for the party to have some wins on international relations, immigration and the economy, yet the two knuckleheads from our region are letting the GOP corpse rot. This is before we get to the numerous errors Hilary has been a part of or the skeletons in her closet. Since no one from the GOP is able to formulate a coherent message, no one is able to call her on her :poop: and she will continue unimpeded. -
Had the PW Burger and some of my wife's Black and Blue.

Had Pee We's burger this week based on BGP recommendations. Average burger. Best thing PW's has is that it is a neighborhood joint with good atmosphere. I'll eat there again but it is not a "must have".

It is an arbitrary process when Jan Wenner says, "Hey, induct my friend Bonnie Raitt". -
Anyone going to catch it?

ESPN Feature: The Most Successful Sports Gambler
kyyank replied to JokersWild24's topic in Fantasy Sports / Gaming
Adam Silver is being very disingenuous. He is in favor of it as long as the NBA gets a piece, if not, count them out. This is similar to Vegas being against online gaming. They were unprepared for it. Their lobby won out and it allowed them to build their own online brands. Now they are for it, imagine that? -
I think I read on Cats Illustrated that if you sign a kid that does not make it due to academics you lose that scholly. Can't take chance.

Weekly Menu and Groceries. What's your game plan?
kyyank replied to hoops5's topic in BGP Break Room
Always keep it simple. Big meal Sunday. This is followed by chicken in oven, a shepherds pie, spaghetti with sauce made on weekend, french dip from crock pot, oven pork chops, chicken with cheese mushroom soup bake. Lot of ways to do chicken btw. Throw in an every man for himself and take out every Friday. -
Supreme Court Justice "Drunk?" during State of the Union
kyyank replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
While I don't think it's a big deal, the fellas on the right may have a point. Most of the mainstream media is left wing. So, the larger issue is that people are set in their ways and don't change channels until something really upsets them. Most Americans listen to one particular newscast or read one particular newspaper. If it is not reported as news there, they have no idea an event happened. Then they dismiss it's significance because their paper of record or newscast did not weigh in on the subject. Lemmings. So, the fact the mainstream media has not reported and not made a big deal is because it shows the left in a bad light. Not reported and the sheep won't notice. -
2015 Jack Kaelin NKY Freshman Invitational Tourney
kyyank replied to Lawnboy13's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
With their numbers and style of play, running and pressing, it was hard for me to see who the potential varsity players will be. Does this mask that they may not have an individual star in this class? Who will grow, stop growing? Lot of numbers, it will be interesting to see who continues to develop. It will also be interesting to see how other schools develop. You only need 5 to play. Other schools may have 1 or 2 studs per class with good size and speed. CCH may still be the team to beat, but you can't write off the Holmes and New Cath's, etal, at the varsity level because of a great freshman team. Nonetheless, a great season for these kids. -
Hit up St Agnes tonite. Place was packed. Fish was good, not in MQH stratosphere but good. I'd go back.
