  1. The laws are fine. Jails are overcrowded. hen lives are lost, it should be treated similarly to any other violent crime.
  2. Let's not get all sentimental here. You said he deserves to go out better. Why? I don't begrudge the guy the contract, I'm for anyone getting what they can get. He signed the contract knowing full well the consequences. I think he got what he deserved. As for the front office, yes they are to blame as well. I said Kobe was partly responsible. It leads to an interesting question, who will be relevant sooner, the Knicks, Lakers or Celtics?
  3. It sucks that he can't be active to participate with this dreadful team that he is partly responsible for creating through his bad contract and personality. he is getting off easy by going on the DL.
  4. Maybe they are acting as a distributor to other restaurants and convenience stores owned by friends and family. May be the only legal entity able to purchase goods.
  5. Lighten up Francis. I knew it would evoke a reaction. Music is like beer, everyone's taste is different. As stated already, BBall summed up my feelings pretty well. The Dead probably has more love em or hate em than any band I can remember.
  6. You've summed up my feelings. Seen them a few times. It's an experience versus a show.
  7. You can actually stop truckin' now, Bob. The Dead's insistence on staying on the road post-Jerry Garcia has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the band was just a collection of semi-competent nerds with a prodigiously charismatic and talented frontman. And "Rock Star Bobby" is the worst of the bunch, a bona fide gravy trainer who would've probably invited frequent guest Huey Lewis to join the band as a full-time harmonica player had Garcia not understandably kept his pink Izod-wearing kiester in check. Weir's side project, Rat Dog, is basically a below-average bar band with a frontman who needs a teleprompter to remember his own lyrics. But frankly, given our unyielding love for all things Garcia, we were willing to forgive and forget until Weir & Co. jumped on a stage in a movie-studio lot to appear on Leno recently. With Garcia on the injured list (for good), Weir stepped in to sing lead vocals on "Touch of Grey." Horribly. Why he didn't just defecate on Jerry's headstone instead, we'll never know.
  8. Boone County is not a good job. Essentially, it is an inner city school. Districting has made them irrelevant in football.
  9. Missed out on a lot of alt rock in college, while listening to classic rock. Mocked the college station and didn't realize what I was missing.
  10. So talking with a guy at work, doesn't care who runs for Reps as long as pro-life. Thus a party that has issues if that is your only criteria. Eliminates candidates and appeals to fringe.
  11. If you do any research, Duke has shown intolerance to less threatening social groups and businesses than the nation wide radical student group that organized this activity.
  12. You can't tell a team to lay down but you can call off the dogs.
  13. Couldn't tell you but my perspective is that these two are establishment picks. One already had a failed run and the other is from a family whose name doesn't sit well with 30-40% of the voting electorate. Now if Bush ran against Hilary, it might even out, as the other 30-40% hate her or the name. Frankly, Jeb is the most qualified of the Bush brothers but timing is everything. It will be interesting to see how this sorts out.
  14. If he or Jeb get nominated it will show the republicans have learned nothing and have lost their balls.
  15. If they are saying it was to prepare for the All A, well pressing Villa will not prepare you to press New Cath or HC guards. Sorry, if that's the excuse. Disappointing.
