Beechwood is a great school. You have a good coach and family who bleeds Beechwood Red and you want to run them off? This isn't Ryle where you have unlimited numbers. You have a limited population. No D-1 bound athletes. Greg Hergott is not walking through that door much any more! Times are changing. As long as his team competes and has success, there is no valid reason to let him go.

Back when we were in HS, the coach was never fired. He may have gotten burned out or losing got to him, but he never was fired. Our parents expectations were that he treated the kids well and was not an embarrassment as a person. Now, Ryle wants fb coach gone, too many parents involved who want a say,wanted girls coaches gone, etc. They are the embarrassment and don't even know it. Ryle is with epitome of everything wrong with current sports climate. Great kids, great athletes, bad environment. Good luck.

False when it comes to school teams. Volleyball is worst offender. AAU hoops is bigger in spring/summer, not interfering with volleyball or soccer. Softball interferes with no one. God forbid you want to play for your school hoops team. Club vball nazis won't permit it.

No problem with a guy covering a game. We know TOG is going to come on here and tell you how hard the big blue kool aid drinking all amerikan boyz played. However, it's rare that he comes across as the PR flak for North Korea. It also further deepens the picture most folks have of FT Thomas as cake eater, see-no-evil, shangri-la mecca of Campbell County. I'm happy to see everyone got a medal. Congrats.

I think Gray Middle School has a couple of 16 year olds playing up on the 8th grade team. Pays to redshirt your kid.

Not knowing the demographics of Dayton or Bellevue, does their population want to merge with an inner-city school? That is where race comes in. Race will always trump reason and logic

Let's not kid ourselves, Highlands is a fine program for KY and Ohio. As someone else stated, it would be foolish to think they would be top team in TX, FL or Cali. That is why these things are silly. Look at the high school hockey rankings by USHSHO, the first 15 teams are from Minnesota. They don't care about including all regions, they just look for the best. I would imagine this is really how a poll should look for HS football if done right.

6'1 kids, who can't jump over the Sunday paper, are D-III material.

Bad idea. Reason why a lot are down on CYF team. You will lose kids this way. You get 20+ kids ready. This is all about getting kids ready for varsity. All it takes is 3 kids of the 11 to quit and then where are you. You get anyone who shows potential and interest ready so they want to continue to play. Besides, you don't know who will peak in size, others who may not have reached puberty. Highlands is the blueprint, not this way.

I'm well aware of Louisville's dominance. I'm saying this is their best shot, imo, to bring home state. I'm certainly rooting for them, but this is a message board. Speculation and expectations are a given on the site which is why I posed the questions. It's a little bit more than, "Yep, they're going to be good. Nothing to add here. Next question." Nope. I'm excited for this team but what is worth posting is talking about great expectations and how anything less than a state title is going to be a big disappointment for ND. I think what is worth asking is this a referendum on the coach's ability? Will Matt be missed? Those are the questions inquiring minds have.

Probably the most balanced response. Tough part of not having football is that it probably causes ST Henry to lose out on some top dual sport athletes from IHM or St Paul who may have gone to St Henry instead of Cov Cath, so it costs them in baseball or basketball.

Playing time issue may cause AA's to select fewer to an A squad if there is no flexibility. 7 selected instead of 8 0r 9. Anyway you slice it, you will have parents upset. Make squad and get barely a quarter, don't make squad because they didn't want to promise Junior more playing time than he deserves.
