It's my understanding that assistant coaches are not permitted to talk to referees or argue calls. Do they usually get more T's than the head coach for this reason?

Saw this behavior with Connor 8th grade girls parents and current Ryle freshman girls parents. The trend I see is the better the team, the worse the parents. It's an entitlement to every call going their way. hissing the refs over a call when up 25. Making noise when your kid is shooting free throws. Unacceptable behavior. Just cheer your kid on. The kids take the cues from coaches and parents behavior and it breeds from there. Don't be that parent.

He has been on team last few years. He can't create his own shot or defend anyone. Great shooter if wide open. It will be interesting to see if he has filled out, put on any pounds/muscle. Otherwise, he may get passed by.

I'll say this, you are seeing more publicity with the VB girls getting schollies. Parents think this is the route to go. In addition, more moms are becoming involved with coaching vball and then steering the kids in that direction. I know at the catholic school level, beyond the fifth grade, teams are having a tough time fielding competitive bball teams as kids are playing/forced to choose vball.

Size does not matter. Highlands wins with precision and SPEED. Until the rest figure that out, they all will be playing for second.

Interesting how many of these girls will be playing varsity vball come their senior year. Too much talent in vball tells me 11 freshman vball players won't be playing varsity. You may see some go back to basketball. Those kids may still play club vball and that is where the schollies get offered. So, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Redford can't create his own shot, can't defend and is not a great passer. As others have stated, Redford is in over his head.

Saw all 8th grade teams in NKY this year and the St Mary's girls were good but not as good as Connor or Gray from what I saw.

In baseball, it's not always the best team that wins. All it takes is for you to face the ace of a staff on a given day and you are done. Kinda unfair, but that's the way it is.

The only change needed at state level to be made is seeding. The districts are silly where teams advance when they lose. Have a region tourney and be done with it. Best team moves on.

Cov Cath parents have no reason to complain, the team is awful without him. Jealousy? Maybe.

Hepler's brother is 6'4+ eigth grader. He is indeed one to watch.

Correct. Imagine how dreadful they would be without him? They had no point guard who would do that. They had no big man who could take pressure off of a mediocre point guard. No shooting guard who can create off the dribble and get space for his own shot. No other player can create their own shot. The fact they are now playing Schuh and Heppler should tell you the strength, or lackthereof, of the returning cast.

This. The press hides their many deficiencies as a team. I've said it all year. They have little talent. Ruthsatz makes everyone look better than they really are. Take him off the team and they would be lucky to win half of what they have won.

No coach wins without Ruthsatz. Kid makes all better. It would have been ugly without him. Talent is not there.

This has been the concern from the beginning of the year. This team would be dreadful if Ruthsatz did not transfer in. There is not one guy who is an offensive threat, who can create a shot on his own. It is all about Ruthsatz getting them a ball off a screen or when the defense collapses on him and he dumps it down low. To think differently is foolish. There are so many role players and only one "player".
