Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Covington Catholic ? Remember, please be constructive.

Expect Cov Cath to play a fast paced game with in your face defense.

Even their bigs Tobler & Schuh can get up and down the court all day long.

CCH should be fairly deep this year.

 

Best player is the PG Nick Ruthsatz. Tough, tough kid with a strong offensive game.

Zack Tobler is the center who is also a tough kid who will score.

If they get some good outside shooting then they will be tough to guard. They struggled last year from the perimeter.

 

Good role players who battle and defend - Pauly being chief among them.

 

Soph Shuh is somewhat raw but athletic with a lot of energy. Best jumper on the team.

 

They should have a really nice team that will contend for the region.

Look for junior Ben Heppler to help fill it up from the perimeter, very good shooter.

He's 6'3 with good ball handling skills, expect to see him at the 2,3 or 4 positions.

Fredrick has the talent to have a great senior year and could be a consistant scorer for the Colonels.

He will need to attack the rim more and not force up contested 3's.

He has been on team last few years. He can't create his own shot or defend anyone. Great shooter if wide open. It will be interesting to see if he has filled out, put on any pounds/muscle. Otherwise, he may get passed by.

No bigger than he was last year. The sophmore class has a few kids that may get some playing time this year.

If this is accurate then there are only 5 players who are JV only. The roster on the Cov Cath site lists 17 players for JV/Varsity. Seems coach is not keeping the same numbers as past years, as I seem to recall the number being 20 or so between the two.
