NKY produces state championships but as a whole is it really that good? The district matchups have been terrible. There does not appear to be very much depth. Outside of a few games I find it somewhat boring and mediocre football. Are they living off of the glory of about 2 or 3 teams?

I saw this kid play against Dixie and he looks like a solid player. He doesn't look very big but he looks like a solid high school player. A school like Georgetown or Pikeville or Union should be all over him.

Ernie is a good person and was a a really good official. Nothing but good things to say about him. However, a board has to hire someone they think is committed to the job. It's not an easy one as you have coaches and athletic directors plus the KHSAA on one hand and over 100 officials on the other all wanting a piece of you and your time. The board cannot hire someone who cannot make up their mind if they want the job or not. When you go back and forth it raises questions about your commitment. You then make it easy for them when you decide to not show up for an interview. The board has to go with someone they know is 100% committed. Apparently, Ernie was not. I think Ernie made the decision for the board.

Coach Listerman certainly needs to take some of the blame for the attitude being shown since it appeared he continued to let it happen. I bet he regrets that. However, the people that should be the most criticized are the parents of the players that over the years continually showed a lack of respect towards the coaching staff on a regular basis. It amazed me how many times I heard about it from fans that were taken aback by it. Those parents talk out both sides of their mouth. The parents that allowed this to happen (and it wasn't the majority) are the real problem.
