Maile pitched into the 6th giving up 2 runs despite BW having lots of base runners. Fagel closed it out.

 

CCH scored 7 in the 4th off of 3 BW pitchers. Big blows were a bases-loaded triple from Lankheit followed by a 2-run double by Severson. Ballgame.

Schreiver reaches base via E-4c, Severson 1-3 sac, one out man on 2nd. SSchneider goes out 3, two outs. Arnzen on a 0-1 count hits a double to score Schreiver, Stein bunt single men on 1st and 2nd, two outs. Reese goes 5-3 for the third out.

Best walks on a 3-1 pitch (1rbi) and knocks in Arnzen still no outs. Johnson out Smith in. Lankheit on a 2-0 pitch hits a triple and knocks in

(3 rbi's) Stein, Reese, and Best. Still no outs and CR Nienaber on 3rd. Bir walks on a 3-2 pitch and Radcliff PR and steal 2nd. Men on 2nd and 3rd no outs. Schreiver walks on a 3-2 pitch, bases loaded. Severson doubles knocking in (2 rbi's) but young Schriever runs through a Krumps stop sign and get throw out at the plate. 1 out, Smith is goine and in come #32. Schneider goes 7 2nd out and Arnzen goes out 9.

I would think at this point the DH is dead.

 

However, next time through the BW lineup the original DH batted again (re-entered I guess) BUT #28 then went back into RF after the inning.

 

How can that happen legally? A sub can not re-enter.

 

What am I missing?

I will respectfully disagree with the single ruling. A good throw was going to be an out IMO.

 

Regardless, the #9 hole reached base every time including Jack Grosser with a PH single.

I am so proud of this team for winning the 35th District Championship this season as many on this board thought they were only the third best team in the District and weren't even going to make it to the Ninth Region Tourney this year.

 

If I remember correctly, I said "Big mistake, Big, Huge mistake" and then I was taken to task for it.

Essentially it boils down to a sub and re-entering.

TOG - pull out your book and tell me who you had coming in to play RF when #40 came into pitch for BW. Then tell me if you had 23 re-entering to hit late. Then tell me who went back into RF after that.
