The kid who came into the game to play right, #38, was entered in the pitcher spot who 23 was DHing for. 40 came from right to pitch.

28 came in to pinch run earlier in the game and never played the field. You may have thought it was 28 out in the field but it was 38 in the last 2 innings.

The DH slot in the batting order does not change with the defensive player change. The DH can remain in the batting order in his original spot as DH. The subs for the original player being DHed for, will not bat, and the DH can continue for the subs entering the game in the original starting players spot, regardless of how many subs are brought into the game in that slot.
