He is signing tomorrow, my son texted me this morning and told me. I hope this kid keeps that sweet stroke. He can shoot the lights out!

They signed a 6'9" kid from Minnesota who will be there in June.

My son told me last night that Aaron is going to Berea College, if this is the case the Coach Hemmenway has gotten himself a very talented player in his own back yard. With some of the other talent Berea has signed it sounds like Coach Hemmenway is bringing back the Coach Weirwille days! I know Aaron had been asked to be a preferred walk-on at NKU but decided playing time was more valuable, I don't blame him a bit and wish him the best!

I know its that time of the year when kids start really getting stronger. Right after spring ball I think kids start really seeing the payoff. Several months of hard lifting really start showing about now!...thoughts?

I thought Issac Smith was their catcher?

Awesome job Lady Rockets, it wasn't as easy as some of the fans had predicted, but you won nonetheless...SUPER JOB!

I was at this game and Madison Central outplayed Rockcastle Co. plain and simple. There defense and game plan was great, but in the end it was to much of the Hammond girl. Good job Lady Indians, you were told all week that this was gonna be a blowout and that you ladies could not compete. Well thumbs up to Coach Cooksey and his staff. Lady Rockets better be ready for the rest of this tournament, you all thought this was gonna be a push over, and you about when home. So much for 40 point blowouts.

Where is the 20 point blow out? Where is the 40 point blow out? Central had the chance to win this one but Rockcastle County had the experience. If Rockcastle plays like this the rest of the tournament they will not win this.

I hate that this is leaving Richmond. EKU is the perfect setting for this tournament. Hopefully it will come back in a few years. This is going to hurt the economy of Richmond, its a big money maker!

All I'm saying is that there is a difference from making a prediction and just plain old be cocky. I have seen Rockcastle play 4 times this year and they are dynamite. All I'm saying is that I have seen this story line play itself out so many times, a team and there fans come out so cocky saying they'll win by 40 and so on only to lose and be made to look like a fool. You all at Rockcastle should remember this from the times you went to the State Championship in football. Everybody thought it was a given only to get blown out yourselves. I hope Rockcastle shows up because the Hammond girl has been great for this state as has shown the kind of girls basketball that is played in this state. I want Central to win, but some of the rhetoric from the Rocket fans even if you do win is a little absurd.

You are right mountain ref the last time Rockcastle/Central game was not pretty, but Madison Central is playing very good basketball right now and I really do think this game will be closer than most think. The Brooks girls for Central is a very good ball handler and has grown up a lot since the last time these two teams played. With the exception of Jenna Cornelius most of this team is made up of Sophomores, and just handled some really good teams in the 11th region. I look forward to this game. Rockcastle I think should win the game, but this stuff about it being a blowout at half I think is a little crazy. Good luck to both teams and I look forward to seeing and maybe talking to a few of you all on here down in Bowling Green!

Rockcastle's girls are awesome we know this, but the Rockets still have to go to Bowling Green play ball and see what happens. If I were one of Rockcastle's fans I would not be writing on here how you all should blow this tournament up. There are 15 other teams who a capable of winning this thing. I would say Rockcastle is the favorite, but if you all were so much better they would just give you the trophy. Show some respect for the other teams in this tournament, and show some respect for your Lady Rockets as well.

A fun game to watch. Madison Southern got a bad call when they forced Woodford Co. into a 10 second call, only to get bailed out by another ref who said a timeout was called by Woodford. Not saying Madison Southern would have won the game, but at that point Southern would have been down 3 with 35 seconds left and the ball. It would have been nice to see the refs make the right call. Both Lexington Catholic and Scott Co. fans were even arguing the call in Southern's favor. Nonetheless, it was a hard fought game by both teams. Southern played better this year than most expected considering they lost 7 Seniors last year, and all the players on the floor but 2 had any playing experience. Good luck to the Yellowjackets on Saturday. Great season Eagles!

Allen Feldhaus intimidates officials more than any other coach I have seen other than Billy Hicks. He was the difference in the game. If Hawkins doesn't score more than he did last night Central will not go past Saturday.

I don't think either team can win the region, but I am interested to see the Woodford vs. Madison Southern game. Woodford only beat Madison Southern by 1 in overtime back in January. Could be an interesting 1st round game.

LOL...sorry I meant when they did drive they were called for charges. Most of Model's fouls were on loose balls, and Southern was trying to get it to the hoop a lot more than Model, because Southern only shot like 20% from three or something pretty close to that.

Yeah Model played a good game, as far as the fouls were concerned I thought Model played a little wild at times. They drove to the basket and were not in control and had several charges called on them. Also, anytime Southern went to the basket Model did not make it easy and Southern converted there free throws. The foul difference was due to the fact they shot a lot of outside and mid-range shots. When Southern put the press on to end the 3rd that is when Southern took control of the game. My hats off to Model who played about as well as they could have, but Aaron Ponder could not be stopped in the 4th quarter.

Model came out inspired to play kind of like Berea did against Madison Central. Aaron Ponder was the difference in the ballgame. Ponder scored 19 of his game-high 30 points and grabbed four of his game-best 13 rebounds in the final period to win this one. Central is the favorite, but if Madison Southern can shoot better than they did against Model it should be a good game.

If it was a meaningless game then why even play it? If you think this game was meaningless just wait until next year when Madison Central returns just about the same team, it will be even more meaningless to you next year.

I know Madison Central won the game, but Berea for much of the game outplayed Central. I thought the bogus technical foul called swung the gate to help Central take control. I think Bill Smallwood is the most underrated coach in this state. Year in year out he doesn't have much talent but he gets the most out of his players. This year he had a little talent and played Central in a very close game. Congrats to Madison Central, GREAT YEAR PIRATES...!
