Newport Central Catholic/Owensboro Catholic All "A" Finals Predictions
Rooting for the Breds but Greenwell is a great individual talent. Saw her as a freshman 3 years ago and she was amazing then. Big challenge for NC. My heart says NC but my head says OC. Owensboro Catholic 43-38.

PRP 2013
Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park, a perennial Baseball powerhouse from the 6th Region.

I wasn't there but we have to remember that the kids playing are 15-17 years old and the students attending the game are the same age. Making good decisions isn't always one of their best attributes. Despite the debacle on the floor and in the stands, the Birds have to get back on the horse tomorrow night. Let's hope they can.

Spoke to her Father after the game and they were thinking it might be a broken forearm. Hope not as Hassert is a gritty player

Highlands 63 Holy Cross 52
Brianna Adler leads the Birds with 26. Defensive effort in the 4th quarter was stellar. Great coaching by J Rich to go to a zone late as Holy Cross couldn't make anything from the outside. Loss of Hassert for Holy Cross was big as she provided great energy and defense before she was forced to leave the game with an apparent forearm injury.

Glad I went to the girls game. Can't believe Witte, Turner, & True did not dent the scorer's column. NC's defense must have been phenomenal.

I think Ethan Doty is likely to stick with baseball.

What does the Highlands Bluebirds baseball team look like for 2013?
Feb 15th is fast approaching and we'll know more then... The strides JB has made with the program over the past couple of years have many kids excited about baseball, which is excellent for HHS athletics. I know several kids have been working hard individually to improve their skills and are looking forward to competing. Having many kids tryout can only help the program IMO. If 70+ show up for tryouts, as one posted has indicated, there will be tough decisions for the coaching staff no doubt.

Whats wrong with Highlands basketball
Buten plays baseball too.

Any updates from the NCC/Holy Cross matchup last night?
Free throw shooting has been a real problem in the limited time I have seen NCC play... maybe the coaches had picked up on that in the stat sheet.

Holy Cross 55 Bishop Brossart 41
Seems to be the complaint in every game... Not in attendance but with the prevalence of poor officiating in seemingly every game, the excuse of bad calls rings hollow. Sounds like the players should expect it when they tip off.

Highlands v. Notre Dame predictions (1/8)
Saw there was no prediction thread on this game tonight in Park Hills. Thoughts? Notre Dame is lead by D 1 signee Olivia Voskuhl, who is slated to play guard at Cleveland State. Highlands has it's own D 1 signee in Xavier recruit Leah Schaffer. Both teams are talented.

You got that right.... Glad the trains made their PAT.

Highlands Lex Cath Referees
According to the LexCath football website, # 70 is listed as Sr. OT/DL Alex Buckles. If football doesn't work out for him he has a future in WWF. The 3 head butts are deplorable.

Highlands 61 Lexington Catholic 28
Donovan has been an outstanding high school QB. He is 1 of several great signal callers to play QB for the Birds. Good luck next week in BG.

Monroe County/Central predictions
Monroe County is a great story in 3A this year but I think the speed and athleticism of Central will win out. I predict a Central win 21-13.

Highlands / Covington Catholic (Predictions)
That would be very exciting. I can't remember the last OT game HHS played, or if there has ever been an OT game with CovCath. As many have stated, turnovers will be a big part of this game. If CovCath doesn't turn the ball over and can limit HHS' offensive possessions to 4 per half, then the game may be close. Otherwise I see HHS winning by 2 or 3 TDs. HHS 50 CovCath 29 Either way it should be an exciting game at DCM Stadium.

Better wait until mornin or the game warden will be all over you.

Ashland / Highlands Predictions?
Sounds about right.

Dixie/Henry Clay predictions
Lexington schools have been down for several years and N.Ky schools have had better programs, leading me to conclude Dixie will win. Colonels 23, Henry Clay 15.

Conner 13 Covington Catholic 12
And why would that be? I have always thought that bad losses aren't the great motivator that some do.

Highlands/ Elder (OH) Predictions?
Elder is 5-3.

Highlands/ Elder (OH) Predictions?
I suspect Dale will make some changes in the kickoff team this week and in anticipation of the 4A playoffs. After last night, I think they've given up 5 or 6 long kickoff returns for TDs. Look for JC Mettens to play a key role this week as HHS may be forced to punt more than usual. If HHS can slow down Elder's run attack, HHS can make it 2 in a row over the Panthers. Highlands 27 Elder 22.

Highlands 70 Pendleton County 0
It was a district game unfortunately. Shout out to number 7 for PC. He ran hard all night with multiple defenders on him. He was one of the best players on the field, HHS players included. Many starters sat this game out for the birds.
