Pick-six

With district tournaments about to start in basketball, lets just take the top 2 teams in the district so the other teams don"t have to play each other again. Then, only take district tournament winner to the region. That would cut down on so many games in the district and regional tournament. Kids wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt playing meaningless games (1 vs 4 seeds in districts and district runner-ups vs district winners in the regional tournament). That way there isn't an adverse affect on track and baseball.

I think it will effect attendance as some people and coaches/players tried to watch the games at various locations.

Happy to see Nicholas at 2-0. I didn't know what to expect from them after the grid.

Fleming has a new unique design they used last year. I am sure they will use it again this year. I am not sure how to post pictures or I would.

To be honest, I am not familiar enough with Wheelersburg to know if anyone was missing. I do know they had 3 teams and their 1st team was undefeated until they lost in the championship. Their freshman was suppose to play Fleming's freshman in the championship as well but they didn't play because it was already around 10:30 pm. I thought Greenup and Raceland looked very good. Fleming was fortunate to beat them. Fleming has a relatively young group this year. They only had 1 senior playing yesterday. Their leading returning receiver was not there. In closing, let me say that I am not one of those guys that thinks 7 on 7 is ANY indication of what type of success a team will have once the REAL season starts. They are fun for the kids and helps build timing and experience against other teams number 1's but until you have pads on and add in the linemen, it is not real football.

Fleming County won the tournament at Greenup County on 7-13. They beat Wheelersburg in the championship game. Pretty good night for a young squad.

I am not as close to the program as most, but from what I've seen it is a HUGE loss. Coach Kinner, no doubt, did a good job coaching but he also took care of a lot of behind the scenes things most people don't see.
