Hats off to Russell. They physically whipped and dominated Fleming County tonight. Fleming County got nothing going offensively and gave Russell too many opportunities on a short field. Good luck to Russell the rest of the season.

Whats worse is when refs say it was an uncatchable pass!

Rowan has a good group of freshman right now. I think that group could have some success when they get to be juniors and seniors. The problem is, how many of those kids will stick it out until then. Kids want to win right now and often don't have the long range vision to take some lumps now and win later.

West SHOULD win.

Fleming and Russell should be a great game. Both teams are playing well defensively. Fleming's starting defense has only given up 2 touchdowns this season and their defense overall has only given up 3 touchdowns.

Fleming County's offense gets a lot of attention and rightfully so but their defense has played tough as well. Their starting defense has only given up 2 touchdowns all year, those being to Greenup (Greenup also had a field goal and an Int return and KO return). The Estill TD was on a fumble return and the Rowan TD was late in the game against several reserves.

Just looking at the score of the Fleming vs Greenup game is deceiving. Greenup didn't really light Fleming up. They got points off turnovers and special teams. Also, that same team held Russell to 7 points and Fleming scored 30 on them.

Maybe not! That was what Fleming thought last year and then West Carter beat them.

I told you I saw 4 or 5 wins on their schedule. Congrats Royals!

Should be a great high school football game!

Fleming was up 41-0 @ the half and the young pups battled it out in the second half.

Who brings up basketball just halfway through the football season?? If I was a moderator I would have to suspend his posting rights for a while!

Not sure there is a time when games have to be completed by. Fleming County and Harrison County finished around 1:30 am a few years ago. Both teams have to agree on a make-up time and Harrison County was determined not to have to come back another day.

Estill wins this one big

District opener for both teams. Does Lewis County get on track after their close loss to Powell? Does Fleming County come off their open week and get a win?

Did Nicholas play without Richardson? Impressive win either way but more so if he was out.

Our district has a no practice on Sunday rule. Honestly, it doesn't affect football as much as basketball and others that play on Monday's.

No shame in losing to Estill, they have been tough since going back to the doublewing. Is Coach Holcomb helping out this year? If not, I could see a push to get him back in charge.

I guess. If you have the opportunity to hire a coach of his caliber, you do what you have to do!

Did someone actually complain that they hired him????
