Someone explain to me how a 6 class system "hurts" our kids. I have heard Mr Tackett make the comment that when someone explains that to him, they will consider changing the current system.

So, why does it bother you if they won a championship if they are a "fantastic team"?

Let's poll the 6 State Champions or runner-ups from the past few years and see if they feel like their experience was "watered down" due to 6 classes. Maybe some will turn in their rings. Let's ask the upcoming seniors if they want to shave games off their senior season because "10 games is plenty".

Why does most every team making it matter to you? I never hear people saying every team shouldn't make the district tournament in basketball, baseball, soccer, etc... Should only the top 2 make it in those sports? Only District champions make the regional tournament in those sports? I don't get why everyone gets so upset with football being like other sports.

And how does that help football? Are we trying to get the season over faster for basketball? Every year we drag these posts up and argue over which class system is better (3,4,5,6 etc...). It is obvious that the KHSAA is set on keeping it at 6 classes. Schools are polled and asked their opinions and most seem to favor the current set up. Why do we continue to beat this poor dead horse??????

He was the offensive coordinator and one of the 2 assistants Coach Poynter had. I would think it would be hard not to miss a coach of his caliber.

Actually, their scores have improved. They have had a lot of administrative turnover though. Like I said, internally it would have to be a boys assistant or someone that hasn't been coaching.

She teaches PE at the high school. If they fill it from within, it will be someone not associated with the program currently. Her husband was her assistant and middle school coach. The other assistant at the high school and middle school is not applying.

Success will depend on the transition process of the new systems. Will Grizzle change much or leave it the same? Defense was pretty tough last year. Will he tweak the offense or change it full scale?

I think/have heard it will be the opposite. The name I have heard is very experienced and somewhat local.

Fleming County returns several starters and should be pretty good. They return 7 or 8 starters on both sides of the ball including their qb, top 3 leading receivers and 3 lineman on offense. On defense, they return their secondary, 2 starting linebackers and 2 linemen including their leading tackler. Consistency will be the key for them.

Who all did they graduate?

Why did he transfer to Lewis? Where did Whitt go?

Will all the assistants stick around and help him? Who has been their defensive coordinator? Was it Mullins? If they stay as strong on defense they will be tough.

Fairview dropped out a few years back and Rowan County is now in.

All the teams in the EKC play in it. Some teams have dropped out and some have came back in recent years and that has caused an odd number of teams at times. In that case they will invite someone else to fill the open spot in the grid.

I agree with most of your assessment. I don't know what Bourbon has returning but know that they had a solid JV team and freshman team last year. Fleming County should be better this year than they were last year. They return most every one and they after they made the Qb switch last season they were much better offensively.
