newarkcatholicfan Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Does anyone know where the live scrimmage will be? I know it is a two day event. Also does anyone know the dates yet? Thanks
Pick-six Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 2016 EKC Grid Friday August 12 at West Carter 6pm Nicholas County vs Fleming County 8pm Greenup County vs West Carter Saturday August 13 at Russell 5pm Bath County vs Raceland 7pm East Carter vs Lewis County 9pm Rowan County vs Russell Several of these games are repeats of last year. I think they try to put teams together that don't play in the regular season.
newarkcatholicfan Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 If all goes as planned I will be making my first trip to West Cater and to Russel, to catch all of these games. Hotels in the area?
Cats3x Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 You can get a cabin at Carter Caves. That's about the nicest we have in Olive Hill. Spanish Manor Inn is a place too but most would choose to stay in Grayson which is 10 minutes away.
RAM TIME Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Grayson would probably serve as a happy medium between both schools. Approximately 21 miles to Russell High School and about 12 miles to West Carter High School. Guest House Inn & Suites Days Inn Super 8 If you enjoy the beauty of the country, you can choose from 2 State Resort Parks. Greenbo Lake.=Russell 12 mi. W. Carter 27 mi. Carter Caves =W. Carter 7 mi. Russell 33 mi. Greenbo's Lodge us currently closed due to a fire in the kitchen early last fall, but reconstruction should be near completion and they should re-open soon.
newarkcatholicfan Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Thanks all. Looking forward to the games and making some new friends and seeing some old ones.
newarkcatholicfan Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Anyone have pics of either stadium?
GOREDDEVILS Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Anyone have pics of either stadium? newarkcatholicfan Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 I bought a Bath County T-Shirt last season, when I was there at a very good price. I plan on buying another shirt at the event this time around. Hopefully they will be sold at least one of the locations.

newarkcatholicfan Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Watching another Arena league football game and I started to wonder about this event. I was wondering are the same teams always in it? Thanks.
Pick-six Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Watching another Arena league football game and I started to wonder about this event. I was wondering are the same teams always in it? Thanks. All the teams in the EKC play in it. Some teams have dropped out and some have came back in recent years and that has caused an odd number of teams at times. In that case they will invite someone else to fill the open spot in the grid.
Cats3x Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Watching another Arena league football game and I started to wonder about this event. I was wondering are the same teams always in it? Thanks. EKC is the oldest conference in KY, at least according to local lore. Same teams, unless a team is added or leaves the conference. For instance, Russell is a new addition from the last few years. As much as possible, teams are matched up that don't play in the regular season. Sometimes that's not always possible, but it's the goal. The sites rotate. Money goes toward the EKC banquet. Overall the EKC does a great job promoting area football.
