Like I said before, Fairview got the ball in the hands of their playmakers time and time again and Raceland didn't. I know I ruffled some feathers on here or fur if you will. Week after week you guys sugarcoat everything and make more excuses for everything. If you have a problem with what I'm saying, than have my membership revoked, I could care less!!

You know, I agree that it was a stupid move by the Raceland kid, but give it a fricking rest man!! You're popping off about it over on the Raceland thread and here!! I would like to see him bench Reed, heck, I think he needs to be kicked off the team, I don't think him playing or not playing against Russell will make that big of a difference, there are other playmakers on Raceland's team to take up the slack.

Just watched the video, my god, what are our kids thinking!! That's ridiculous!!!

Read the box score in the paper this morning and tell me we didn't get outcoached. Fairview consistently got the ball in the hands of their playmakers, 47 times between their three main running backs, our three touched it a total 15 times. Beach touched the ball one time!! You can't run big backs on the edges like we tried, time and time again and expect to get any yardage against a team like Fairview. We have too many playmakers who are not touching the ball and we won't beat a team like Fairview!!

This game should be a dandy!! I was very happy with our pass defense last week against Nicholas, I like seeing safety help over the top and that's good, because I expect Fairview to air it out some. IMO one big key to this game is for Raceland to disrupt Fairview's normal tempo and make sure this game becomes a 4 quarter game as I guess that some of Fairview's starters, who probably haven't played more than three quarters all year, could have some conditioning issues. I do believe that this will probably be the third best team Raceland has faced this year (behind Ashland and Pikeville) and would be the best team Raceland has beaten to date. I really hope we win this game!! Good luck guys!!!

I'm tired of hearing about Fairview's strength of schedule. They played the same sort of schedule last year and if I remember correctly they whipped our tails up and down the field and went on to give LCA all they wanted. The team may not be facing the toughest schedule, and there are questions about their roster, but they are learning to win and that has to mean something. I'm a diehard Raceland fan, but eventually you have to stop sugar coating things. I know this response is bound to get someone's knickers in a wad, but I have to get it off my chest.

I was very disappointed in this game. I had heard rumors from different sources throughout the week that East was being viewed as a pushover and that our starters would only play the first half, boy was that false. Our defense looked totally lost as if East had just installed a new offense. The kid from East was one heck of a runner and defender, this team had half as many kids as we do and played twice as hard. I don't understand this all or nothing defense that we run, what ever happend to coming under control once to you break the line of scrimmage? What was up with the hole in the middle of the defense that was large enough to drive a semi through? I hope we fix this before Fariview comes to town or their backs will eat us alive. At times we looked great on offense and had no problem moving the ball against them, several dropped passes and three and outs killed us. I was glad to see that our OC was opening the playbook up some, I think that is going to be a must. I still don't understand why we don't try some routes across the middle of the field, it is almost wide open and we have two big bruisers with soft hands that could make mince meat of opposing DBs. I think no. 12 needs more touches in the back field, he runs hard, all the time and isn't afraid to take a hit. What is up with our special teams over the past couple of years? We had a couple of major blunders in this game. The muffed punt on the fair catch by East really took the wind out of our sails, it was probably the turning point of the game. It's hard for kids to see a fair catch is called, pull up and then try to make a play, tough one there. Then we had the two kids who ran into each on what I thought was going to be a good return. The one that got me the most was after we forced them to punt, the punt was somewhat ugly and the ball was bouncing all over, you got to get away from it at that point and let it be what it's going to be, the touchdown that followed that play was probably the nail in the coffin. Just my two cents.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying, I was just getting my thoughts out there, that's all. I want the same thing as the rest of you guys, teams that are going to continue to excel and strengthen out tradition. Obviously I can't compete with HHH, ha ha.

Oldrambler, I'm not talking about scheduling a cream puff, just someone new. If we go into Ashland next year and take another beating like this the kids the following year will start to wonder what the point is. I just don't see what you stand to gain from getting beat by 40+ points year in and year out. I agree that you learn nothing about your team from scheduling pushovers, so what is Ashland learning about their team from year to year when they know that Raceland realistically can't compete. These are just my observations and thoughts. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers or fur and point fingers, and I'm not saying we need to play a schedule like certain other teams in the area, I just think we could stand to benefit from a couple years off from playing Ashland and replacing them with another competitive team.

I was very disappointed with this game. I didn't expect a win, but I thought we could have played a closer game. The Rams have a lot of glaring problems to fix, but they are a young team and problems are to be expected. How many more beatings do you take from Ashland before you say it isn't worth it to play them anymore? I speak from experience, a beating from Ashland plays with you confidence. I still have confidence in this team, I would like to see more passing and maybe that develops as we move along in the season. These first games are all prep work in my opinion. I hope we put it all together in time for district play, cause I honestly don't think I can stomach consecutive losses to Fairview!! :ylsuper:

I was impressed with LCA last night. Totally different from the team that played in Raceland a few weeks back. I think they are right back in the thick of things.

Wow, Maroon Fan, glad you told me that, cause I thought it was Indiana!! No reason to be a jerk about it, I was simply making a point!!!

I believe they do this in Ohio and have for years, don't see why it couldn't work in Kentucky.

Looks like a tough schedule, especially when you factor in five away games, in a row!!!

I was wondering the same thing myself.

They are very, very close!! It all depends on which team plays from here on out. The team that played Fairview in the first half doesn't stand a chance against LCA, and by team I mean coaches and players!! On the other hand, the team that showed up halfway through the third quarter and played most of the fourth has potential to beat LCA and Russell!! Just my two cents!!

I hate to lose to Fairview, I can take a loss to anyone else, but a Fairview loss really stings!! Fairview is a legit team!! Raceland was beat in all phases of the game. It's hard to win a game when your players are arguing amongst each other at halftime. I saw those kids come back on the field for the third quarter and not one of them had a hungry look in their eyes. Halfway through the third quarter we finally decided to play some football. I would like to see us go deep more and stop throwing so many screens, Farley has the arm for it!! Next week doesn't get any easier, but I think we can win, we need to win!!

I think they are a contender right now. If they beat LCA, that will elevate them a little more.

We are as good as done, if this is true. If parents are concerned about their kids being injured, they need to be playing tuba in the band. Is Fairview playing dirty? Have they intentionally injured any kids on the other teams? Ashland and Greenup are both fairly physical teams. I hope this is some sort of set up. We need to have our heads on straight when we line up for the first kick off. We need to play as physical as we have all season!!

I think the KHSAA has totally screwed up again. I understand the whole thing about giving everybody an opportunity, but I think they are now taking the "giving" thing too far. Some of these schools will be hard pressed to field a team, much less win a game. I think when this expires in 2014 they should consider scrapping everything again, and realign under the Upperward format. They won't keep score, there will be no wins and losses and at the end of the year they can hand out 32 state champion trophies, 32 coach of year awards and so on and so forth. Bottom line, I think it's stupid.

One of my biggest concerns coming into this year was Raceland's youth at the offensive and defensive line positions, I have been surprised, for the most part both sides have been very solid this year. Like I said before, Raceland's tackling scares me the most, there is way too much arm tackling at times.

This game could go either way in my opinion, obviously I'm going to be biased and say Raceland wins in a close game. I have no idea what Fairview brings to the table, I know they brought a good team to Raceland last year in what was a very good game. I know Raceland has surprised me this year, both good and bad. Raceland has played a couple of good teams where as Fairview has played their typical schedule, so be it. The thing that scares me about Fairview is their running game, Raceland's defense against the run this year has been spotty at best. I think this is Fairview's first true test this year, I think if Raceland holds Fairview's rushing game in check and leaves no scoring opportunities on the field, they will win a tight one. Just my two cents.

I can't remember going to Nicholas County when it hasn't rained. Maybe that's just me.
