CLASS 1A

District 1 - Fulton City, Fulton County, Mayfield, Russellville

District 2 - Bethlehem, Caverna, Holy Cross (Louisville), Kentucky Country Day

District 3 - Bracken County, Eminence, Frankfort, Paris

District 4 - Beechwood, Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow

District 5 - Berea, Campbellsville, Lynn Camp, Williamsburg

District 6 - Harlan, Hazard, Jenkins, Pineville

District 7 - Fairview, Nicholas County, Paintsville, Raceland

District 8 - Allen Central, Phelps, Pikeville, South Floyd

District 7 has been a very tough district over the past couple years and it just got watered down. Mayfield just barely stayed in 1A, the cut off is 200 and Mayfield had 199.

Mayfield to 2A would have been great considering the rest of 2A. As it is 1A west semi state looks to be Mayfield vs Beechwood barring major upsets for the next 4 years.

Clear shot for Hazard to the semi finals / finals each year.

Hazard will have to go through Raceland and its not always easy.

Does everyone now qualify for the playoffs??

Yep.

yes

Hazard, Raceland, and Fairview seem to have the upper hand in the East.

Looks like the same in the West - Mayfield, Beechwood, and Franfort.

I would like to see District 4 be moved to the east to balance Class A. The west also has Russellville and Lou. Holy Cross. That makes the west loaded.

Outside of Raceland and Hazard I don't see anyone to help balance the east.

I think the KHSAA has totally screwed up again. I understand the whole thing about giving everybody an opportunity, but I think they are now taking the "giving" thing too far. Some of these schools will be hard pressed to field a team, much less win a game. I think when this expires in 2014 they should consider scrapping everything again, and realign under the Upperward format. They won't keep score, there will be no wins and losses and at the end of the year they can hand out 32 state champion trophies, 32 coach of year awards and so on and so forth. Bottom line, I think it's stupid.

Ramcat77 you arn't one of these guys that think every little Johnnie should get a trophy! Thats terrible! It really bothers me that it has all come down to: We want everyone to have a chance. We don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. God help us when we start giving the same trophy to the state runnerup. Because we wouldn't want any parents saying. We come this far to play. And everyone should get the samething.

Again it's liberal America sticking their nose into sports. The whole soccer mentality! I say only two teams per district make the playoffs. It should be an accomplishment to make the playoffs, not a handout. JMO
