With the convincing win by Fairview over Raceland last night are the Rams dead in the water?

 

Not only would the Rams have to win the rematch there would be much bigger fish to fry later in the playoffs.

Not dead. But on life support! Have to beat LCA next week! Or end up third in the district for the first time in years.

Nope...just have to get better up front, & have to do a better job of tackling. Granted last night wasn't pretty, but the RAMS aren't down for the count just yet.

They are very, very close!! It all depends on which team plays from here on out. The team that played Fairview in the first half doesn't stand a chance against LCA, and by team I mean coaches and players!! On the other hand, the team that showed up halfway through the third quarter and played most of the fourth has potential to beat LCA and Russell!! Just my two cents!!

Raceland is so young, it is hard to get a read on them sometimes. At times they look like a young team and other times they look like an older team. In all actuality, Raceland has beaten who they should have beaten, and lost to who they should have lost to.

 

Dead in the water? I don't know. But, it is going to be an up hill battle from here on out for sure.

:thumb: Absolutely SN! Most all Raceland fans will stick with this team along with any and all future Raceland football teams as they have with all past teams. I stated on a thread earlier that there is no room for fair weather Raceland football fans in this fan base. Should anyone that calls themself a Raceland fan want to bail on this team now then by all means get out :irked:, just don't come back when they are winning again bc there is no room for you and trust me when I say they will be winning again. JMO.

Another good post. With a school as small as Raceland there are going to be down years. Raceland has went through a stretch in the last few years where every class was loaded with talent so graduation losses didn't hurt as bad as some years when we had a senior dominated team. I fully believe that this team can avoid a losing season and just maybe win a playoff game. Should that not happen then we will look foward to a more experienced team next season although they will still be young. As you said, this team is super young and from what all I am hearing the younger classes (freshmen and jr. high) are extremely talented.

There are some schools that may consider a 6-4 season for example a decent or good year. A 5,6 or some 7 win seasons at Raceland is not good at all and some people start asking question and/or wanting changes. I can remember when one year(can't remember the exact year) that coach Vanderhoof's team was 1-9, people were going crazy, calling for Vanderhoof's along with the entire staff's jobs. Raceland's administration stood by him and we returned to the winning ways that we expect and are used to. Moral of the story......don't panic, the Rams will be winning again and sooner rather than later.

 

So I guess what I am trying to say that Raceland is not going anywhere and we certainly won't get so low that we cancel varsity football for a couple of years like some other schools have done, one in our area. There are no quitters with this program.
