Wayne by 16. The huge emotional win over McCreary and the feeling of satisfaction that they have already accomplished more that anyone thought they would will keep SW from being able to duplicate the performance they gave on Wednesday. But watch out for them to give someone a tough game in the region and possibly win a first round game.

Wayne 67 Monticello 34 Final Not Surprising

Yesterday the lower arena seats from ticketmaster was section 21 row tt which is in the gray section of the seating diagram above. Those sections have rows aa - xx while the yellow sections are rows a-q. Seats that high up in those gray sections would not be bad seats as most of the students sit as far down near the floor as they can.

Pretty surprised at this result. Where's SSF to give us all the details? Are the Raiders looking ahead or are they not putting it together (or was it home cookin')

Pulaski play Casey at Rockcastle. Casey has won both meetings this year. West plays Burgin.

I agree getting the ball in to Bourne is the best option for the Jumpers but if you are passing up open shots on the perimeter it's just going to get harder and harder to get the ball inside. Unless Price, Wallen and Coomer can be more consistent in scoring from the outside opponents are just going to smother Bourne inside. I like the idea of using Price to penetrate but generally that results in him shooting instead of dishing underneath to an open man or getting it back outside for an open shot from the perimeter.

If this game is a close one I think Somerset will pull it out but McCreary seems to play well in big games especially at home so it would not surprise me to see them win by 12-16 points. Jumpermom is correct that the game was closer than the final score. I think 13 was the largest lead of the game for Lincoln.

How do you think these two neighboring regions stack up. I think they are kind of similar in that there are several teams with legit shots at winning the region and they do not have a team that is clearly better than the rest. For much of the season everyone, including myself had Lincoln on a pedestal above the rest of the 12th but with the Patriots loss to McCreary and close games with Boyle, Wayne and Southwestern in the past month I would rank them just a hair above the rest of the pack. Corbin was probably the consensus favorite in the 13th but a spanking by SL and close call to Pineville knocked them down a notch similar to Lincoln. So the 12th's Lincoln, McCreary, Somerset, Wayne, W Jess and Corbin, SL, Pineville, Cumberland, Knox Central and maybe Jackson Co of the 13th, how do you think they stack up against each other. List what schools you have seen from each region too. I've seen all of those teams in the 12th and Corbin, SL, Pineville and Knox Cen from the 13th.

Just goes to show you no one is safe in this region. I don't think it's quite so shocking of a loss, surprising yes but not shocking to lose to an average team on the road in another region. The loss to Rockcastle was much more surprising to me. Southwestern playing Lincoln close was also more surprising.

I had Wayne 58-50 in the thread that got closed for some strange reason. It's hard to predict how many free throws a team will get and hit late in the game!

Wayne 58 Somerset 50 Hopefully Somerset can bounce back and get this big win but the way they looked against Pulaski (who didn't look very good at all themselves) keeps me from having much confidence in them.

Who did he come in to shoot free throws for and what was the circumstances of this. Did someone get hurt?

SSF are you saying McCreary didn't press at all in the third quarter and only the last minute of the fourth? So they, playing reserves much of the second half, scored 50 points without pressing in the second half? Hasn't Musgrove started some games this year and if he is no longer starting I would assume that he still gets a significant amount of playing time

So McCreary, leading by 43 points after three quarters, plays thier starters and main rotation of players for two minutes into the fourth? If your ahead by 43 points looks to me like you would get your main players out of there so if tempers flair, which often happens in that situation, and something happens you don't have your top players out there at risk of taking a cheap shot. Who cares who the other coach is playing, if they're getting beat by 40 he probably thinks they need all the playing time they can get.

About two weeks ago I did some research on the records of what I thought were the top 7 teams in the 12th, Lincoln, McCreary, Somerset, Wayne, W Jess, Boyle and Mercer. At the time each of the seven teams had beaten at least one of the other teams in the top seven and the top seven had only lost region games to other teams within that group with the exception of Somerset losing to Casey. Since that time though McCreary, W Jessamine, Boyle (twice), Somerset and Mercer have all lost region games to teams other than my top seven teams and Wayne and McCreary were both nearly beaten by 3 win Southwestern. I was pretty confident that those seven teams would have made the region tournament, now I would say Lincoln is the only pretty sure bet and they're not as solid as they were at the time since they also lost during this time frame. By the way the other teams to beat a top seven team are Casey, E Jessamine, Rockcastle, Burgin, Garrard and Pulaski.

Somerset and Casey flip for the #1 and 2 seeds. I will still take Somerset as I think they are clearly the most talented team in the district but since they all beat each other and we now know Rockcastle is capable of beating a good team I will not be surprised whatever two teams come out of this district.

It is most often seen when a player is dribbling and on the move. The player will begin to make a pass while moving and the defender will take away his passing lane. The player with the ball will then hold on to it and try to stop without walking, often leading him to drag his trailing foot which is his pivot. By dragging his foot he is moving his pivot foot (changing it's position on the court). If he would just lift his trailing foot instead of dragging it he would be ok as long as he passed or shot before returning it to the floor. His pivot foot isn'tconsidered to be moved until it establishes contact with another point on the floor, similar to how a player in the air is considered to be at the point where he left the floor until he comes down at another point on the floor.

If so the other three teams in the district would be trying to throw their district games so as not to win the top seed and have to play Mason.

In their defense the only "lock" mentioned was by SSF that McCreary and Lincoln would make to the regional tournament, not that other schools like the ones you mentioned could not beat Mccreary or Lincoln. I just thought it was something of a stretch to call it a lock when the Raiders just beat Southwestern (whom they may play in the first round of the district) by six last week. Since McCreary beat Lincoln by 9 SSF are they also a lock over the Patriots should they play again.

If they're 10-1 at home I believe that means they're also 10-1 on the road as I think they are 20-2 now. I wonder if Southwestern or Monticello have been notified that they are "locks" to be eliminated in the first round? Is Wayne County also a lock? They beat Monticello by about 50 and Southwestern by 19.
