Mayfield plays a little better this Friday, but the skid continues against the hot Tigers... Caldwell County-27 Mayfield-14 Kinda ironic, but if the schedule was the way it use to be Mayfield would be beating Fulton County, Ballard Memorial, and Crittendon and have a toss up with Fulton City. They would more than likely being rolling along somewhat smoother. For the last decade Mayfield has had tough games first, then cakewalk the last 5 games. This year it is reversed with the new scheduling and it has to make u ponder what is of greater benefit. 1.Mayfield loses tough games early, turns it around and is on a winning streak come playoff time! 2.Mayfield rolls through most of its early games and stutters during the middle-late part of the schedule. A losing streak has to have some kind of emotional and mental effect on the Cards. Hopefully, the Cards can right the ship...

Would Robinson put up those gawdy numbers against Mayfield's or FC Schedule??? No, but he would still put up decent numbers! This kid is a great high school QB. (Can scramble, throw, run, and runs a great game.) I look for him to play another position in college, unless he wants to go somewhere like Murray State which would kill to have him! :thumb: It is said that Coach Haskins son, former UK QB Billy Jack Haskins saw Robinson throwing at practice and asked his dad why he was playing receiver. I even heard he was reluctant to make the change...Boy, it has worked out well for all involved!

Paper says he is 3 short of state record for TD's in a season! Should get that next week against cross county rival Heath!

Trigg and Mayfield are going in the wrong directions...let's get it back on track. Hats off the Fort Campbell, I saw them against Graves week 1 and thought they were very overrated! Now, I see how much better they have gotten...they are peaking at the right time of the year!

I like this Robinson kid...Murray State needs to snag him up...something like 59 TD's so far passing. I don't care if you are playing little league kids...that is TOUGH!

Mayfield started the season 0-3 in 2001 I believe... Mayfield's wheels are spinning and not in the positive direction...:creepy: I also heard that starting lineman Ethan Kemp who has be sluggish the last few weeks found out he suffered a concussion in the Graves County game...and will find out next week how long he is out! He had no idea he even had a concusion according to his family.

I just don't see Mayfield turning it around...I am a huge Cardinal fan but if you would have asked me 5 weeks ago, I would say Mayfield would beat Marshall Co and Caldwell Co to close out the season! Now, I fully expect them to lose both games, then beat Crittenden Co, have a tossup game at Fulton City whomever wins that game will lose to Frankfort. This is why they play the games and I hope I am wrong, but I just think there are more problems than the Cards can overcome!

According to the KHSAA... 2nd Round---Mayfield/Crittendon winner will play Fulton City at Fulton 3rd Round---If Mayfield wins they will more than likely play Frankfort if so it will be in Frankfort. 4th Round---If Mayfield wins this one they will earn a home game to host likely Beechwood, due to numbered years thing, which makes no sense! 5th Round---If Mayfield wins this one they have turned it around and play at Papa Johns. The only way they play at home earilier than the sub-state is if a 2 seed beats Frankfort....Yeah, it will be different not being in War Memorial!

Snake, Westsider may provide the best insight but assuming Mayfield beats Crittendon County and Fulton City which this team may not do, I believe they would then travel to Frankfort most likely...if they win then off to Beechwood, if they win then off to Papa Johns. IMO, this is the most un-athletic Mayfield team I have seen in years...they are young though. My take on the game...If you look at Fulton City and didn't know they were Fulton City you would think man this team is quite good. They are solid, fast, hit hard, well coached, and block well. I also thought it was interesting they dressed 43 players and Mayfield only has 38. Odd, since Fulton is half the size. Not having Logan does hurt, but our line didn't really give Guhy or the backs much time. They got whipped for the second week in a row, with the exception of Brimer and Simpkins. I also felt that Mayfield was somewhat outcoached unless there is something going on we don't know about. Tyrese Murrell was having a whale of a game for big solid gains. Mayfield blocks the punt and has all the momentum from the Fulton City 15 yd line and Tyrese is on the sideline for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd downs??????? :confused: Makes no sense really...causing Mayfield to kick a FG which ended up not being enough. Hats off to Fulton City and good luck next week again the Flash!!

Not sure if we are suppose to say, but he plays wide receiver and his name does not begin with "X". I think this may actually make Mayfield a stronger team in the long run and his replacement is very capable. As a whole the attitudes should get better now that the coaches have corrected the problem. Apparently this thrashing from Calloway County may have been the best thing to happen for the Cards. Now if we can just get Logan healthy! :thumb:
