Thanks Admiral & lord knows we need all the support, it really stings after watching the thrashing last week...Boy, we are spoiled as Cardinal fans...I think I was in shock all last weekend after last Friday night!

Fulton's QB and RB are tough running the ball and if Mayfield plays like they did last week, the Bulldogs might just shock the world! Mayfield better tackle better or Williams will make them look silly. Mayfield tucked their tails last week and without Logan Mayfield's offense will not be full strength. I just get the feeling that the Bulldogs can sense they can hang with Mayfield this year. Last year they thought they might and they did down in Fulton. I believe there were a few factors... 1.Fall break--teens staying out late, coming to practice sluggish and repeat cycle for 5 days. 2.Overlooked Calloway-hard to see this one, but it wasn't a district game like the one next week for all the marbles. 3.Calloway's first drive deflated Mayfield and they could never recover it seemed. They seemed to give up which I have not see since the NCC game...lots of finger pointing---Just must remember these are students and hopefully this will make the Cards stronger. I think this loss will do them good as they have been winning fairly easy...and it seemed the 35-14 games letting younger players play was getting the upperclassman kind of stagnant.

Logan was ejected on the sideline by the ref with a chip on his shoulder it seemed for yelling after a no-call hold. He can't play next week anyway! OL Trevor Williams was also ejected when he lost his composure and swung at a CC player. The attitudes were awful last night...Coach Morris said this morning it is his job to yell not the players and it was a stupid move to swing at any player...Morris said, "He had pads on you know!" Two other tidbits...Mayfield had -3 yards in the first quarter wonder when that has happened before...I wonder when/who the last team to beat Mayfield like a drum at War Memorial?

My take...Mayfield was flatter than the field they played on last night....Calloway smacked them in the mouth all night long. I have never seen an offensive line pick up stunts and blitzes like Calloway's line did. Calloway was not that much better, but they made Mayfield look silly in every facet of the game. Frankly, I was shocked and embrassed by the way Mayfield responded...it was not typical Mayfield. Congrats to Calloway and Coach McKeel:thumb:...their QB was very good and accurate and I was impressed by the way they played. Mayfield's coaching staff was outcoached all the way around!!! Sounds like Logan is out at QB with a seperated shoulder for another couple of weeks. I don't really think he should play on "D" at all the rest of the year. Logan was on the 2 doing a QB sneak and Willis from Calloway simply feel on him and boom he is out of the game. I USUALLY DON'T COMMENT ON THE OFFICIALS BUT WITH ALL THE THREADS LATELY...I'D LIKE TO ADD MY TWO CENTS. THEY WERE AWFUL LAST NIGHT BOTH WAYS... :creepy: I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY WERE FROM BUT IT WAS PITIFUL...LET THE KIDS PLAY. EVERY TIME THEY WOULD CALL A PENALTY IT SEEMED LIKE THEY WOULD CALL THE NEXT ONE THE OPPOSITE WAY. THERE WERE ALSO MANY MORE OFFSETTING PENALTIES THEN I'VE SEEN. IT DID NOT CAUSE MAYFIELD TO LOSE, BUT THE OFFICIALS WERE AN EMBRASSMENT!:fight: Congrats to the Lakers and their fans again, good luck the rest of the year...Hopefully Mayfield will remember what it felt like to get hit in the mouth and respond next week and there on. :ylsuper:

Calloway County whipped us, more in the morning! This is a good win for the Lakers, they deserved it. This win/loss is sure to send some SHOCKWAVES through the state!

Yeah, I miss Coach Leahy and Dave Rowton, that did a really good job. I believe Coach Leahy and his wife have both had health issues.

No online radio on the Mayfield end...the station that use to do it was sold during the offseason and they opted to do Ballard Memorial's broadcast where the station is based out of. :mad: I didn't really realize that Mayfield starts a JR, 2-SOPH, and 1-FR in the denfensive backfield...they all seem older than that. Looks like a great night for football!!!

Mayfield has 2 really promising WR's and both are Sophomores I believe...Both have size, speed, and good hands. Xavier Shelton and Gary Hall--look for big careers from these two as Mayfield will most likely pass more the next few years!

I have heard that he (Rump) had injured a rib and should be back this week. Also, heard that Logan may play both ways some tonight. If not needed, I would like to see them hold him out as long as possible. From what I've been told Calloway QB Brockman has really progressed and has not been throwing as many INT's as of late. I am really interested to see how the Lakers fare tonight at War Memorial!

With the film prep work that Coach Lawson puts in, you can see how far DB's Xavier Shelton, Gary Hall, and Tyrese Murrell have gotten so much better this year. There will not be a defensive unit MORE PREPARED to play tonight than the Mayfield Cardinals. Should be an interesting game and good luck to both squads!

Mayfield will see some weapons from Calloway, but with the DB's Mayfield has and having Coach Lawson calling the "D" I think Mayfield wins this one pretty easily. I just don't see the Lakers scoring more than 7 points on Mayfield first team "D". Should be a good matchup and I am glad to see Calloway back on the schedule...Mayfield's more diverse offense was REALLY clicking last week and will score some points Friday night Their kicking game should force Calloway to have long drives all night.
