Top QB's in NKY
But Kremer is the clearcut best passer and that's worth something also when you're talking about QB's.

Pre-Season Nky Top 10?
So you're saying it's not a popular move by the coach to make his son the starting QB? :sssh: Who'd have thought?

Top QB's in NKY
I'd reverse Kremer and Towles, but I agree this is the top four and that Lawrence is #1. I think Kremer is right there though. Then a dropoff to both Towles and Hempel.

Top WR'S in nky
Lawrence is an outstanding QB. I do agree he's the top QB in NKY. But it might be a tough challenge for him next year without the 2009 line and a very special RB that defenses were forced to focus on.

Pre-Season Nky Top 10?
Boone is looking at another down year next season. Hard to be an all-run team if you don't have the line. And hard to throw when you don't have the QB or system for it.

Does Hempel (Ryle QB) have an offer from...
Completely untrue. At best, he is middle of the pack speedwise on that team and I've been told that by a couple of people. He is not some speed demon. He has decent but not special speed. Also a tremendous overstatement to say he's one of the biggest prospects in NKY history. Keep it reasonable.

Ryle 2010
However, I don't know that you can necessarily put one ahead of the other SOLELY based on numbers. I think you take into account that Conner choose to build their offense almost exclusively around West. Ryle chooses to be more balanced, as they have a stronger running game. Therfore, West will certainly have better stats. That alone, however, doesn't make him the better of the two. Coach Warner will not return to the Boone County offense with a QB like Hempel. Now the year after Hempel graduates might be a completely different story . . . .

Interesting that the same rules for qualification as a "hit" don't apply for some CCH hitters. If you didn't see an error by Ryle's 3Bman yesterday, you were sleeping. And if you think Hensley's ball was an error rather than a triple, wow. Same for Clarkson's hit down the line. Every time a bunt is laid down, it isn't an automatic hit. You don't judge error/hit based on whether a past fielder for a certain team might have made the play. It's whether the play was reasonable to make. Period. But score it any way you want if it helps CCH's batting averages and pitching stats.

At least two were definite hits, probably all three. Guess it depends on who's keeping score. Conversely, Seimer was given a hit on a play that was an error by Ryle. The paper has it right!

9th Region Predictions?
I think NCC has an very good shot of running the table. Holmes will be tough, but if everyone is healthy for NCC, they are capable of beating them.
-
State tournament
Campbell County has a great chance of making some noise this year. Came out of region with more first place finishes than Ryle.

Newport 52 Bishop Brossart 43
Solid season for Brossart, who should take the 37th.

Tate Nichols (Ryle '10) wins 2009 That's My Boy Award
So has West not gotten any offers at all or will he only consider D1 offers (which don't appear to be forthcoming)? He'd make a nice D2 or D3 QB.

St Henry 50 Holy Cross 44
Wasn't Egan one of HC's top scorers last season? Obviously he is not playing. Why?
-
9th Region District Tournament Predictions
It'll be interesting to see if Holmes wakes up and starts playing to their potential or whether everyone has overrated that potential all season long.
-
Surprise teams this spring??
Little Calvary Christian may surprise some people in the 10th this year.

Holmes 67 Dixie Heights 64
Sometimes it's not quite so easy to play an underachieving level of basketball for a long stretch and then magically turn it on at tournament time. Holmes needs to start asserting itself going into the tournament, not hope their "A" game shows up at the start of the tourney.

Boone County 68 Ryle 61
Ryle needs another legitimate ball-handling threat besides McLeish. Their other guards don't appear to have any meaningful role in the offense. They certainly don't penetrate and dish to afford easier baskets for Stauffer and Coleman.

Ryle signs contract to play Colerain, OH in 2011 and 2012
Look I'm sure he's fast. But a TRUE, laser-timed 4.4? No way. You are talking about a very elite time there. Go look at the times of the top players in college and NFL. He just isn't at that level and it's a disservice to him to lay such expectations out there for him. High school 40 times are always inflated. First of all, they aren't truly accurate because they are done by hand. Secondly, every decent athlete claims to run a "4.6" (they' don't), so it makes the truly fast kids have to inflate their times. 4.4 is just unrealistic for the most part. Same for baseball. A few high school kids might throw in the 80's, but since every dad of every halfway decent player claims his kid throws "mid-80's", it forces the real 80 mph pitchers to claim they throw "high 80's to 90's."

4.4??? This kid is going to run a time that would make him one of the faster players in the NFL? You might want to keep the expectations for him realistic.

Frankfort / Bellevue Predictions
Buckler sets some more records!

Ryle 52 Pleasure Ridge Park 22
Which is exactly why calling him one of the best in NKY is silly. He's playing by and large only due to an injury to the starting safety, not because he brings any special skills to the position. Certainly they have other choices to fill in at that spot without risking injury or execessively tiring their starting QB?

Ryle 52 Pleasure Ridge Park 22
Really? Based on what? Pee wee days? I'm told he hadn't played it in years and had only played a few series up until this game. Pretty big leap to proclaim him one of the top safeties in all of NKY.
