Final

Nice win by Ryle. PRP had some nice athletes but an undisciplined team committing personal fouls.

I would hope that seeing your #1 qb lying on the ground after being blindsided will convince Coach Warner to find someone else besides Hempel to play defense. Its not worth it.

Any game details?

Is Hempel OK?

He is fine. He got the wind knocked out of him.

Congrats to the Raiders. Keep working on the passing game. Look what Nick West did to a very good Manual defense.

Why would the Raiders care about what West did against Manual?

I understand your argument but believe it or not Hempel is one of the better safetys in NKY. PRP was setting up the crack back block and executed it perfectly a couple times.

He could be an all-American safety and I STILL wouldn't have him in.

Really? Based on what? Pee wee days? I'm told he hadn't played it in years and had only played a few series up until this game. Pretty big leap to proclaim him one of the top safeties in all of NKY.

He's been a safety for a while and is a very athletic kid. Obviously you haven't seen him play much. I know coach Woolf the D-coord for Ryle and he has his best 11 players on defense. Hempel does an excellent job patroling the secondary. Ryle has a team that can make some noise and they have there best 11 on both sides of the ball.

Pee Wees he was a DE. Freshman year would be the only time he would have played safety and that would have been JV. He did not play any safety as a Soph. Now he may play safety in practice but that is different.

IMO this 'legal' shot was a deliberate set-up with probable intention of trying to taking out the QB, while refs attention was focused elsewhere. If not for this, there would be no discussion.

Using him at safety seemed to begin after the SK game when the D-backs got entirely too much tackling practice and the D-back corp began to experience some injuries. He was needed to improve depth and size back there. Plus he has a nose for the football and performed very well in summer passing league at the position.

Plus, watching Miles Simpson play back there with his size and speed certainly helped SK last year in their playoff run, so I'm sure that had been observed and the value noted.
