WHO'S NEXT?

Hard to tell with a bad bears defense, but I think this might be the best all around game Mayfield has put together this season. Only a couple of flags, they took care of the ball, and not to be left out, Arnett was spot on with the passing game. Really hitting their stride at the right time.

Butlers defense has more holes than Swiss cheese. Henderson has a strong arm, but accuracy down the field is not great.

If Butler could play a little keep away they could keep this game tight for a while, but playing an up tempo passing game will work to Mayfield's benefit. Something like 45 to 21.

While a confident bunch, Monroe is just never on the same level as the top teams in their class. They are good for a couple of games in November and that's usually it. Colts by 5. 5 TDs that is.

Officials were generally OK in the 1St half, my issues came in the 2ND when there was a pow wow seemingly after every other play, penalty or not. You'd think a crew with some NFL experience on it would have a better night. Chain gang and the time keeper weren't on top of their game either though. Bad night for a lot of folks in Princeton. Just happy this was not a playoff game and the season continues for both teams, despite anything that happened last night. There is a bright side for both of us.

I think overall yards were fairly close in the stats. Bright ran for 106... Riley 128... Burns for 31. Arnett had the bigger passing numbers

Ball is spiked and I turned my head to the clock and it is still running. Of course you would expect that from the home press box... Let it run out and see if the ref calls him out on it. And he did!. Didn't matter if it is .1, 1, or 2. There was no doubt there was time left in that game.

Mayfield owns both lines . Just can't connect on the pass, so far. Total yards are in the neighborhood of 80 to 10.

Great, congrats. You made a post I referred to. Glad you know more about Mayfield football than me. It has zero to do with Bright or Tyler (the backup as you call him). Stick to what you know, not what you don't. :thumb:

No prediction, just know that McCracken is better than Owensboro. I think some of you in BG will be saying how you "didn't' see that coming" around 10 o'clock Friday night.

I take issue with a post that mentioned that BOTH offenses are better than expected. Caldwell perhaps, not true for Mayfield. Anyone that has seen Mayfield on a regular basis knows what's up, so I won't get in to details of what needs tweaking. Nonetheless, with Tyler getting substantial time at the varsity level, I would expect to see more of a 2 back set. No worry about the defense, but if Mayfield looks sharp on offense and in special teams play, I will feel better about the playoffs. 31-21 Mayfield.

Certainly don't want to hijack the thread throwing a lot of Mayfield perspective, but I was one of those who felt DeSales was a step ahead of Mayfield. They do have some beef up front, but I think Mayfield will have the athletes to neutralize that. Of course it may not matter if CAL wins the rematch.

Enjoyed the live stream of this contest. Nice to see what both of these teams are all about by viewing 1 game.

I've got to think at some point Mayfield will click on all cylinders, who knows if that happens this week or not. Doubt it matters that much against Murray as long as turnovers and penalties aren't excessive. Cal Preps has it 31-13. With Bright, I'd give Mayfield another touchdown... without him, 31 to 13 seems close.

It seems that with Mayfield having so many opportunities they were eventually going to cash in enough of them to take this game. With Corbin not having much speed, I was never worried they were going to break a long one and sneak away with the win. Long passes from Sizemore were these high arcing jump ball sort of passes that would never be able to catch a runner in stride to streak down field, although those throws were always well defended anyway.

Yep, on both accounts. I'll drive almost anywhere to watch, especially early in the season when I'm just ready to watch football, and again in the playoffs when it matters. However, this is a tough call... midway through the season with a good, but probably not great ballgame.
