  1. I'm picking CovCath by 1 game in the 60's. Knox out is going to be the factor that swings this game in the Colonels' favor.
  2. My favorite stat is 10 Turnovers against the constant Holy Cross pressure and 1 total turnover in the 3 overtimes. Great great team win. They play like this they can beat anyone.
  3. Walter, CovCath lost by 2 at Holmes and the Bulldogs had Knox then and he's gone and you don't think this game is interesting with Palmer?
  4. Aw shucks, thanks. But we're tied in state championship broadcasts!
  5. For one the last game was a pick em, but with losing the wireless skewed the results. And you guys are new, but the novelty of the newness is to your advantage. And trust me, nothing the Observer would like more than to be at this game compared to where he is.
  6. I don't think the Shakepeare Company would appreciate your sarcasm b-ball-fan. You know those people work hard too! You are on a roll of offending people with your sick humor.
  7. The game is sort of important, but the stat everyone wants to know is who has the most listeners.
  8. Lighten up Francis. No one supports kids on here more than b-ball-fan. Heck, look at his Latin School posts. I'm sure others were more offended than Silver Grove was. If he had said the same thing about CovCath I would have chuckled. His point was, it's not a big deal.
  9. Add Hayden to CovCath and take Knox away from Holmes since the 2 point CCH loss to the Dawgs at the Fieldhouse, and I can see the Colonels rated ahead of them.
  10. How in the world has this not been posted yet on the KHSAA web site? The seeds have been set forever. What is taking so long? Any ideas?
  11. Going to have a signing day at CovCath next Wed or Thursday.
  12. Too bad he did not get a chance to play at a higher level football program. I think he would have made some waves on special teams in South Bend. LOL You know I'm kidding.
  13. Click here for the link to the broadcast of the JV and Freshman Tournament Finals live from Park Hills on Monday night. The JV game starts at 6:00 and the Freshman at 7:30. JV finals will feature CovCath vs. Boone County and the Freshman finals pits CovCath against Dixie Heights.
  14. For the record, I'm not a fan of a thread designed to accentuate kids and coaches not living up to what we perceived them to be. Most are busting their humps preparing for games. Who the heck are we to say who is underachieving and why?
  15. CovCath offensive lineman Jake Henderson has verbally committed to Thomas More today! What a story after sustaining a season ending pateller tendon tear and subsequent surgery. Not in his wildest dreams did Jake expect to get interest from Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown and Thomas More. Jake says Coach Hilvert sold him on Thomas More BIG TIME. This is a kid that bounced around from offense to defense and back again to the o-line in his 4 years at CCH. Heck, he was actually the 4th string QB on the freshman team. Jake found a home on the o-line and all doubts were removed about him when he dominated the line of scrimmage while helping his Colonels rack up more than 400 yards of offense against the Highlands Bluebirds. I think HHS was pretty good last year. Congrats Big Jake. Going to be nice to watch you for 4 more years.
  16. And 52 points between Burger and Campbell. Don't think Nick was guarding them.
  17. And from game 5 on he's 40%. Much more where he should be. His turnover to assist very close to Ruthsatz. McClendon and Thompson 4/13 combined from the field last night as Fredrick went 2/5. Would not say that's killing anyone.
  18. To Nick Fredrick's defense, since his slow start in the first 4 games where he shot 17% from three, he has shot 40% from three to raise is average to 33%. Couple of bad games in a row where he has taken 7 shots. He's been their leading scorer a few times. I think you're being way too hard on him. I'd take his 3 point average the last 20 games over just about anyone's.
  19. It's only going to get a little heated if there's no food for the visiting announcing team. If we don't get food, could get ugly. Would not want to be sitting in the reserved seats below.
  20. Free throw shooting decent? Wow, rough crowd. Best CovCath shooting team from the line in a long time at 74% and 89% the last 5 games and 20/25 last night 80%.
  21. More information about how to get tickets to follow. Just mark the date.
  22. Bob Hurley, coach of national powerhouse St. Anthony of New Jersey, and former boss of CovCath head coach Scott Ruthsatz will be the featured speaker at the Covington Catholic Sportsfest on March 22nd in London Hall at the Drawbridge Inn.
  23. Did not play in 1979. Transferred in and sat out. Only played 80-81.
