  1. Now I remember! You're the kid who sat next to me whose finger kept getting smaller and smaller!
  2. I was there at Freedom Hall with my next door neighbors Tony and Dewey Litmer. I was headed to Holy Cross the following fall and hated Holmes, but I rooted my tail off for Dickey Beal. No one better and that ranking will stand for a while. Can we have a rule that no one can comment unless they actually saw Dickey play? And I was on the same court with him when I was 10 years old and he played for NKCCYC while he put up 30 at Turners. I had the best seat in the house! I believe the coach was Governor Housely.
  3. We had 410 live listeners and 429 have listened to the archive of the game. Off the chart numbers for basketball. Thanks for all the support guys. I'm glad the reaction to our screaming is positive. When something like that happens there are no words and you just become a fan. We knew the fans listening would know it went in. Always time for the details after the madness settles.
  4. Many heartfelt thanks to all the nice comments about the broadcast. VOR, STATMAN, B-Ball-Fan, stop by the booth anytime so I can say it personally. One reason it was such a good overall broadcast was the color of Greg Spencer and the stats provided by STATMAN! You guys are awesome. As far as Rich Maile missing, he was watching his son suit up with the big club in Florida in a split squad game. I'm told he was in the bullpen and scheduled to bat and it never came to be. He's also with them again tomorrow against the Twins in Ft. Myers. That would be a very good reason to miss this classic, but I feel for Rich as he loves doing the color for the games.
  5. For those not fortunate to be there, catch the live action on CovCath Internet Radio. Click here.
  6. I'm sure Max would have loved to be out there, but it was Sawyer.
  7. I agree Campbell will be a lot more fun to watch when he's not wearing a HC uniform!
  8. Walter, just an FYI about Nick Fredrick. Fredrick was held scoreless against Holy Cross, but I think that was proabably the onset of the back problems.
  9. Some idiot gave you bad information. Dixie was up 1 with about a minute to go in the 3rd and it was tied with 6 minutes to go in the game.
  10. Joe Fredrick and I will be broadcasting tonight’s Freshman tournament game against Ryle on CovCath Internet Radio at 6:45. Please pass on the link to anyone that may want to tune in that is either out of town or cannot make the game. There is also an option to listen on a mobile phone or iPad by clicking on the “Switch View to Mobile” link on the broadcast page. Attached is the link to the games. We’ll be receiving emails at covcathiradio@gmail.com. Thanks so much for listening and supporting the Freshman on their quest for the Championship! Go Colonels!! Click here for the game.
  11. In 2009 Boone County was a basket away from pulling off this same feat.
  12. No one from CCH coaching staff is buying this game plan I'm sure. I mean, 7 threes by Campbell and 5/6 from 2? C'mon man. Anyone that thinks Campbell does not get 15-20 shots in the paint next time is dilusional.
  13. Click here if you want to catch the Colonels and Pioneers in the first round of the JV tournament Wednesday night at 5:30 in Park Hills. On the top left of the page you can switch view to mobile if you want to listen on your smart phone or tablet.
  14. Jack Kaelin present for all but three covcath 1000 point scorers: Dan Tieman, Roger Tieman and Don Cowie.
  15. Heppler's worst shooing nights from three was 1/3 and did that twice.
  16. Heppler his shooting 56% from behind the arc. And thanks for all the love for the radio guys.
  17. Osborne was not talking to the refs during the the trophy ceremony. He was talking to what appeared to be tournament officials and/or school admins.
