Nice team effort for HHS to run record to 5-0.

Very close game. BW QB made some nice passes. Good squad had some nice RB’s. Richter for HHS with 3 scores. Lloyd and Bridewell made some key catches. End of game Beechwood was gassed.

I like Vinson and wish he was targeted more!! Ahlfield, Roberts, King having great years but all are tall, long but Veneman they are not. Cramer looked much better last game. I still would like two back set a counter or two and put Buten in a slot and run the jet. Let’s get rid of some of the vanilla and add some spice. The play book is bland. We all want the same thing 3-1 is great. The defense playing much better the JV and Frosh playing well all is moving in the right direction in Cake town. I am awake and I know judgement day is coming as the blue boys are a buzz!

. I like King and Sisson but nobody out there is going to stretch the defense. King has great hands and will move the sticks but use the seam and drag across. A 6’6” running a five yard out is bad play calling plain and simple. Hudi is a threat to touch pay dirt. I am fine with coop and Buten; but there is no nick to stretch the field. I put 9 in the box press man and say Birds beat me deep! The word is getting out.

Huddy has a nose for the end zone. Get him in space he has nice hands. Use him in a few series. We know what he brings to the defense. Not using him at all on the offensive side of the ball is mind numbing.

I am thinking the same. Coop and Buten are fine at backs but at TE in the seam WOW. Have him hold a block and release against a backer. I can armchair this call. A TE is a dangerous weapon. Hopefully someone wakes up on hudl.

The Frosh are 3-0 with wins over SK, Cooper and a thrashing of Campbell County.

Score update?

Not going with a 4th down lineman and crowding the box was a recipe for disaster. They were crushed in the trenches and in the middle. Ground and pound between the tackles. Those big boys sealed the line. Not a big fan on game plan last week. Birdie told me it was about missed assignments; might be poor preparation. Learn and move forward.

Well said! 100% agreement. Thought the oline added bulk in the third and was better. You don’t make up for one Mike Dunn that easily. Saw Merkle at game as well. Grow get better! I love football season!

Should add early seeing a lot of rotations. Keep working. The Bruin fans represented well. Very nice folks. Good luck to both programs. Looking forward to the season.

My take Ahfeld played well. HHS needs to find a deep threat. Receivers are long but routes were slow and drag or Slant Ben your big TE on 5’5 corner not run a 5 yd out. Missed Coop. OL needs improvement, very small and bull rushed. Too much penetration all night that is why screen was successful. Grady still not as sharp but not a lot of time. DE strength the pair dominated early. That showed well. DB work 18 and 11 were good for Bruins but they had a handful of drops. Greene played well! Armstrong love the Moxie watch the film you can’t get beat and thrown at 3 straight plays take the insult talk about a safety over the top, who in the stands didn’t see that coming. Lastly, only a scrimmage for the life of me you can’t go to a running clock the last two minutes on a regular played game. Especially the time setup to set your on 4th down play.

I thought NCC played well. Anderson had speed and good route runners. HHS offense was OK plenty of work to do. If you are a HHS DB get to work as kids had their way in the secondary. Shaking your head coming off the field is not going to cut it. All in all good work early. PS who cares who wins 7 on 7 is fools gold. Their is a reason why they wear pads! Let’s Cowboy Up!

9 is a large #. Can you please verify that count. We know MI, TN and KY but let’s not get ahead of the count. Prohibitive favorite no doubt, deep pitching staff you bet, 9 d1 too many blows to the head? IMO

Very good player agreed. He might have got some of the talent from Mom. I was very impressed watching him in action.

Return of the Mayer boys Cov Cath playing well. Looks like their on the way to a state run. IMO healthy AJ catapults the program. They can be scary good when they click!

CCH has made a very good hire. They are having students opt to enroll and get many of the fish in both Boone and Kenton, heck even Campbell these days. HHS has an aging population and kids have different interests now. I hope 5A works but I will state that other NKY programs have caught up. It’s just a tougher road to climb and not sure why one would opt to put the program in that position. I think it was a good thing Beechwood and NCC was in one and 2A. I would love nothing better to see NKY win in all classes. I do believe state titles do not come with astericks. Again go back to winning and then look at moving back up; otherwise you may not go back to that tradition. I am rooting either way!

Interesting! I am not sure I know the correct decision I see both sides. If you are going to play the same teams I might opt to stay in 4A much easier path and if you take out travel costs. Yes you have a much easier region but you can play the same schedule with the exception of your must play games. Yes 5A is much tougher field just to escape NKY play. I am sure many on this board will beat their chests and say HHS winning 4A is slap to the tradition. Hog wash the kids want to win titles. Ask any team that can escape 6A. I know HHS program is on the rise and yes I was one to say the talent was down. I would hate to think this decision would rest with the AD as to be blunt, shame on the school board for putting him in this position. Sorry not qualified in the least. I would have rather flip a coin than to listen to any of that logic.

I was not at the game but it sounds like HHS bigs played well. I had heard that the last shot was too early and did not touch rim and questionable distance. Question did HHS have any timeouts left? As far as newcath not playing well. I stated this was not a typical NCC season if you look at the past few. In fact the entire 9th with the exception of two teams is way down. Newport and Boone had some talent but they were Dow Jonesers. Obviously by Boone’s early exit. The good thing was some real nice early games! I am glad to hear an electric atmosphere and that both teams left it on the court. Congrats to HHS seniors as they move forward to future endeavors. Congrats to NCC as they move forward.
