Region 3 vs. Region 9 Mar 15 8:00 PM

Who will CovCath play in the sweet 16?

Winner of Owensboro Catholic and Owensboro Apollo.

CCH started off really sloppy. Lots of turnovers, missed free throws, and bunnies. Played exceptional defense, and started to play their game in the 2nd. AJ was a beast on the boards, and CJ was outstanding.

So happy for this senior class...many of them have been starting since their Sophomore year. Don’t know what the state tourney holds for them, but they are in the conversation for best Senior class in school history.

How was attendance?

I realize CovCath is top dog but I would have thought the Red Colonels would have put up a better fight. 43 point loss, wow. (Wonder if that's a record for a 9th region final?)

No, 1954 Newport beat Florence 84-38.

How was attendance?

50-60% of Saturday night, if you made me guess. 3,500 - 4,000, maybe?

Was the 9th Region weak?

Was the 9th Region weak?

Aside from Covington Catholic and sometimes Cooper, yes.

I'm so glad I stayed home.

Was the 9th Region weak?

You mean after the Top 3 and Top 7 team in the state? Yes. Very top-heavy this year, much like the 7th with Trinity and Ballard.
