  1. We (Cooper) scrimmaged both of these teams in the pre-season and I am kind of in the same boat as you are. I expected Dayton to dominate up front, they have big line. Also, though, #23 for Pendleton was a very good player when we scrimmaged them. I am interested in his stats for the game. I felt like Dayton would come out on top of this one, congratulations to Pendleton County.:thumb:
  2. Cooper travels to Taylor Mill to take on Scott this friday, September 4th at 7PM. What are everyone's thoughts on the game?
  3. One thing I noticed tonight at the game was that a lot of times Buckler would try to run outside instead of just getting North. I am not taking anything away from the young man, he is a heck of a runner, but if he consistently lowers his head and runs over people, especially quick teams like Newport, he is going to cause a lot of pain!! Good win for the Tigers tonight
  4. Cooper did play well on both sides of the ball....but there are still many things that they need to work on. Offensivley, Cooper was gelling very well, and Bradley (RB) was an absolute stud. Defensively, the Jags only gave up 7 points, and that was on a 4th and long where the DB slipped and fell. One Kickoff return, and one score on the JV Defense. Good effort by Cooper, but the important thing is, be happy, but don't be satisfied; on to Scott!
  5. I might be a little dumb to the world in this one, which is not unlikely, but where are these games being played? And are they on Saturday?
  6. Was talking with a friend of mine today and he told me that he didn't think a Pre-Game speach from the coach was necessary to "fire up" the team. Coming from a high school where we had VERY motivational pre game speaches, I disagreed with him. I said they were very important because it gets the kids fired up. What do you guys think? Are they important or do you think it is just a way for the coaches to blow off some steem?:idunno:
  7. I think this is a big game for Cooper, I know it isn't the 6A caliber opponents that they will see later in the season, but coming off 2 scrimmages where they played pretty well they need this game to boost confidence. I don't want to make a predicition but I will be in attendence!!
  8. Always a terrible tragedy to hear about something like this. I think the head coach said it best, "atleast he is in a better place now." Prayers go out to the family, team, school, and community from Boone County
  9. Shawnee travels to Union, KY to take on Cooper this friday night. What does everyone think about the game? And does anyone have any info on Shawnee?:thumb:
  10. Bryan Station 5 pts. Highlands 3 pts. Boone County 3 pts. Dixie 1 pt. Lex Cath 1 pt. Simon Kenton 1 pt. Ashland 1 pt. Pulaski County 1 pt. Bowling Green 1 pt. Henry Clay 1 pt. TB - 57 pts.
  11. I have to agree with most others, I just see Highlands having too much for Ryle to play with. I think it will be close, but Highlands will show why they are one of the best teams in the state. Highlands - 35 Ryle - 21
  12. I think that these two should get a look. Conner/Scott Cooper/Shawnee
  13. 7 - Holy Cross 5 - Dixie Heights 3 - Ryle 2 - Betsy Lane 1 - Walton Verona Tiebreaker - Dixie
  14. Conner 5 pts Highlands 3 pts Ryle 3 pts Paducah Tilghman 1 pt Bryan Station 1 pt Bowling Green 1 pt Ashland 1 pt Johnson Central 1 pt Danville 1 pt Lexington Catholic 1 pt Tiebreaker - 56 pts :thumb:
  15. Conner High School had 2 recently that went to D1 schools... Jeremy Bolton-OL 03' University of Cincinnati Scott Kuhn-TE 04' University of Louisville...played last season with the Baltimore Ravens and is in the developmental league for the NFL, I believe it is called the UFL
  16. You are correct, this team is still VERY young. The freshman team at Cooper is going to be good, so the future does look bright!:dancingpa
  17. I agree that these games will be tough, but I think Cooper will match up well with them. All I know about Shawnee is that they are very athletic, but do not have many players on the team.
  18. NOT SOON ENOUGH LOL :madman:
  19. Non-district opponents for Cooper are Newport, Lloyd, Scott, Louisville Shawnee, and Holmes
  20. Good to hear, always very nice to see local talent make it to the big stage!!! I hope he gets an offer
  21. Just makes you ready for the football season to begin!!!
  22. Can anyone tell me the prices to get into the games?
  23. Agreed, West is definitely a player to watch. Question though, will his numbers be as good without his best receiver returning? Just looking for insight, don't know what they have returning at the WR position.
  24. Noone has anything on Shawnee? I would kind of like to know some information on them if at all possible
