Ludlow/Shawnee Predictions
I think the speed of Shawnee is just a little too much for Ludlow. Shawnee by 14

Cooper/Lloyd Predictions
Cooper travels to Lloyd this friday, September 18 at 7:00. I think Cooper bounces back from struggling against Holmes and takes this one by 2 touchdowns. 21-7

Holmes 28 Cooper 21
Little Short Summary from the Game last night: Game got started off on the wrong foot for Cooper. Defense came out and had one of the Holmes RB's tackled in the backfield, forced a fumble, didn't follow through on the tackle and the RB picked up the fumble and ran for about 60 yards down to the 15 yard line or so. From there Holmes scored. Cooper come back with a nice kickoff return to set them up deep in Holmes territiory. Turned it over on 4 downs. Little things like that is what beat Cooper tonight. Cooper had the ball 3 times in the red zone and didn't score. Not taking anything away from Holmes, because they are a very good football team and will make some noise this year in 4A, but this score easily could have been different. I know Holmes didn't play their best game tonight, but Cooper didn't play well at all. A couple times they had Holmes down, getting penalties, personal fouls, etc. and couldn't convert. One thing that was a little disturbing on the Cooper side, the kickoff return the young man from Holmes returned was beautiful, but there were 2 block in the backs right in front of one of the officials that wasn't called. In Holmes defense, Cooper did the same thing on one of their big punt returns that wasn't called, but not as obvious. IMO officials were a little rusty tonight, but rusty to both teams which I will not complain about. Bottom line: Big plays killed Cooper last night as Holmes had just enough speed to break 2 long runs, which was the difference in the game.

Cooper 28 Scott 27
QUOTE=Off_Constantly;3516082]That's why i said i didn't want to anyone to take it the wrong way. Even if they had tackled like their taught he would of had a good game just not 260+ yards. He is a very strong kid and has tons of ability. His yards after contact were unbelievable, but the way the kid is built and the way Scott tackled contributed to a lot. There were many times they had him in the backfield but had his shirt or by the waist and your not going to tackle this kid in that fashion, no way. He had great runs a lot of which Scott had the hole covered and he bounced outside and broke arm tackles. This kid had good vision and the ability but Scott had many opportunities to have him down with either no gain or minimal but didn't get low. OK, I got ya now. I thought for about a half of football Scott did a pretty good job. The first half he only had a couple long runs and I know of one or two that were called back. But yes he is a very strong kid and runs very hard also. I know it is early, and maybe a little partial, but so far I would consider him the suprise of the year in NKY.

You don't think that Bradley's skills and running ability had anything to do with making people miss or not giving them a choice but to try and dive at him or grab on? Just a question.

Agreed, he along with Centers, and a number of other kids who are at Cooper have made the freshman team one to watch! :thumb::banana:

RB talent in NKY
Oh, you don't have to worry about that, coming from someone who use to play O-line, our glory is in our RB's success ha ha. :dancingpa

Cooper 28 Scott 27
Yes, he will still be playing Freshman. If he was asked to carry a lot of the load both offensively and defensively, then he might not play freshman, but he mostly came up for defensive reasons. As for the freshman Jags playing in the lower division, it is a decision Coach Borchers made before seeing the talent on the Freshman level. There were always rumors about this freshman group having talent, but the schedule was made early this year and was pretty much based on last year, where Cooper didn't really compete on the freshman level. It is hard to get kids excited for varsity football when they aren't being successful on the freshman level, know what I mean? If this is the kind of team Cooper will have consistently, you can bet that they will be playing the freshman big dogs next season. :thumb:

RB talent in NKY
Is it just me or is there a boat load of RB talent in NKY this year? I know we mentioned some of the talent in this years class in NKY, but after 3 weeks of football the Running Back position has really impressed me. Obviously, we all know about Collinsworth, Simpson, Elliott, and Quainoo, but what about some of the others? Pugh for Conner has looked sharp. The backup for SK has looked good. West running the ball for Conner so far this season has been more impressive. Buckler from Bellvue, some knew about him but he kind of has flown under the radar IMO. Bradley from Cooper has been very impressive. Maybe I am re-itterating something already discussed, but it just seems that the talent in the backfield this year is unreal around here. What say you?:thumb:

Cooper 28 Scott 27
Understood, but bottom line is the coaching staff thought the young man fit what was trying to be done defensively. And therefore he was brought up to play. It wasn't like a one week thing, the young man is still practicing with the varsity squad. With that being said, good luck to Cooper this week against Holmes. Lets get 3-0 and beat last year's win total! :dancingpa

Bellevue/Scott Predictions
I do see Scott winning this ball game, especially if they play how they did last friday for the whole 4 quarters, not just 3.
-
Cooper/Holmes Predictions
I think it is going to be one of the better games to watch around NKY this week. Who would have ever thought Cooper and Holmes were both 2-0 going into this game?
-
Cooper 28 Scott 27
Exactly...trust me, he was not played friday night just to keep him at the school. He was thought of to be a good fit for the system that Cooper was running that week.

Cooper 28 Scott 27
Its a very big, complicated process from what I hear. I don't know anything about it at all but I think the Centers family lives in the district. I could be totally wrong though, wouldn't be the first time! ha ha

Cooper 28 Scott 27
Exactly the point, knowing a few people close to the situation, they had good reason to bring him up. But the point I was trying to make was if they just wanted to make someone happy by bringing him up, it would have been done so to play a JV game, not to start in a varsity game.
-
Cooper 28 Scott 27
Once again going to have to disagree with you on that. I respect your opinion, but if that was the case then he would have been brought up to play JV, not a varsity game.

Cooper/Holmes Predictions
Cooper(2-0) travels to Covington Holmes(2-0) this Friday September 11, at 7:00 PM. What are everyone's thoughts on the game? I know that if Cooper plays like they did last night against Scott for 3 quarters, it could be a very long night for Cooper. :madman:

Cooper 28 Scott 27
Last night was a very bad night to judge Cooper, IMO. With that performance last night they will not compete in 6A AT ALL. With that being said, that was one of the worst efforts I have seen from that team, atleast for 3 quarters.

Cooper 28 Scott 27
While I do understand your point about Scott dominating up front for MOST of the game, handing the ball off to Bradley is a big part of what has made Cooper 2-0 in the first place. The defense last night was very bad for Cooper, I would be willing to bet the QB from Scott had 150 of his 196 rushing yards after contact. Cooper has to learn to tackle better.

Conner/Lloyd Predictions
Conner by however many West feels like throwing/running

Cooper/Scott Predictions
I completely respect your opinion, but I am just curious as to why you think Cooper will only put up 6 points in this game? :idunno:

Covington Holy Cross 32 Pikeville 14
Sounds like things are going very well for Holy Cross right now and they seem to have a very good, and athletic team. Congrats! Anyone have any info on Holy Cross' JV team?

Cooper/Scott Predictions
I don't think Scott looks bad. It will be a very good game to come and watch. Scott struggled against the run against Conner, and Cooper ran the ball very well Friday night. So I think that is what people are implying.
