Christian County is not very big, but if there basketball team is anything like there football team I seen in the finals this year they have some good athletes. Should be a decent game. I don't see them beating Holmes however. All I have heard all year is how "if holmes plays like that again" well they keep doing it and they keep winning. At the end of the day you can score 100 if the other team scores 101 you lose, or you can score 32 and if the other team only scores 29 you win. If teams want to slow the game down Holmes will slow it down, if teams wanna run, Holmes will run. They are versitle either way, the one thing that doesn't change is they can play good defense and that is what they have hung there hat on this year, not how much they can score.

What happened to Phares?????? I missed that bulletin. With or without him though I am going to take Scott Co by 8 in this one. If he does go it could be a little bigger of a margin.

Dunk 2 in the photos, Pittman was on the other side of the rim begging for the lob, but Housely took it himself. Either way it was going to be impressive.

The three's they struggled to get out on were when they were running a 2-3 zone, a look that they dont usually run, and a defense that is vunerable vs. the three ball but makes getting good looks inside tough.

Hopefully Boone wins this one and Holmes can take care of NCC because I believe most 9th fans want to see a BCHS vs HHS rematch in the 9th region finals at BOK. I know I do, that being said I will take Boone in this one by 10.

I knew that Austin and Greg would both be fine after leaving Holmes and heading to there repsected JC's. Hopefully both of them latch on somewhere next year, which it sounds like they will and they can close there colligiate careers as well as they have started them.

Hopefully coach Carr has the guys ready to go for this one like they were for the Holmes game earlier this season. If they play with that intensity like they did that game they should come out on the happy side of the scoreboard. I am an Eagle fan in this one...

I am refusing to pick these anymore.... I predicted the Boone game and my dawgs lost, then I put it off until the region and predicted the Ryle game and got one heck of a scare, so I'm not touching this one... However go bulldogs.

That is great news for Jamel, the kid plays hard night in and night out, probably one of the best shooters that has came through Holmes in quiet some time. I am glad to hear this. Also congrats to coach Henley on his honor as well. Now they have to handle business Sunday and Tuesday to rep the 9th at Rupp.

Holmes - Kevon Arnold and Pierre Mayfield headline a bunch of young talent coming through there. Christian McClendon is an 8th grader who should be really good coming up as well

Holmes should win this one pretty easily, by about 15-20. But hey, thats why they play the games. You ask anyone in Union that attends Ryle and they will tell you they think they can win, and they are going to play the hardest they have played all year in this one. Its tourny time and the Dawgs have too much experience here though, they should come out and match Ryle's intensity and let there skill and athletic ability do the rest.

He could and they have been trying to get him on the post, in the district tournament he seemed to get frustrated at time because he was on the post, in deep, with leverage and they wouldn't get him the ball. The only player who makes a concious effort to feed him the rock is Ricardo. You gotta keep the big fella happy or he will start pressing, taking ill-advised shots, commiting silly fouls to try to get out on a break, or he will be back hanging out on the wing. It is a part of maturing and growing up as well as showing being patient. But when he is down there working, he needs to get involved, he is tough to stop.

Elijah Pittman is number 3 in scoring, number 2 in offensive rebounds, number 2 in blocks in NKY and according to the votes for 9th region player of the year he isn't even the best player on his team, amazing.

As a Holmes fan I will take this draw any day of the week, not saying anything bad about NCC, Ryle or Dixie, but whenever you can escape having to play Highlands and Boone it helps. I know NCC just beat Highlands and they are the higher seed but Highlands would have been as tough as a first round out as any. Boone in the finals will be a big one if they get there, but to be in that lower bracket and escape both of them early is a big relief. Not saying that Ryle in the first round or a potential match up with NCC or Dixie wont be games that Holmes could lose if they are not focused, just saying its not Highlands and Boone.

I was thinking the same thing. That will be interesting to see. It doesn't matter how it shakes out though, if you gotta beat someone eventually then why procrastinate lol

Not suprised that NCC won the game, but definately surprised by the margin of victory. Cant wait to see what the 9th region draw looks like tomorrow.

I thought NCC would play tough and there was a possibility of an upset but I didn't think it would be this lopsided.

I expected a Scott win, I didn't expect it to be this close, Brossart didn't back down and from stings post it sounds like they had a chance to win it being up in the second half. Good luck to both of these teams in the 10th

I wasn't there but from everyone I spoke with, this game was lopsided from the start and Holmes could have beaten Beechwood as bad as they wanted too. JJ had 15points, 11 Reb's and captured the 35 district tounament MVP. Holmes D is suffacating people right now and that is what they need to make a run. IF they can play D with this intensity from here on out they will be very tough to beat. We all know how they tend to get complaciant and seem like they are not focused, if they can avoid that, watch out.

How does this bracket work out? Will J'Town and Eastern meet before the finals in the regional tornament. I know in the 9th no 2 teams from the same district are on the same side of the bracket.

Should be a great tournament.

I didn't expect it to be this close, but I did expect Ryle to move on. Now on to Boone for seeding purposes in the 9th.
