Blake Bryan's scoring numbers are outrageous! And Villa does not have much to go around him so he typically gets the other team's best defender. The kid is a scorer, no doubt about it.

These are not undated stats Villa's last up date was Feb 10. Bryan is well in the 800's What about the other schools. Why don't all schools report stats too?

What colleges are interested in Bryan?

I have not heard anything, maybe D1allstar can help, seems to be close to the Villa program. I would think that his size would hurt him, probably a good lower level DII or DIII prospect I would think.

I could find out, I haven't talked to him about colleges. He usually stays pretty focused on just his season during the season, but I'll try to find out.

BTW, Bryan should end up leading the state in scoring average. He ended the season averaging 30.17 if you include his last 5 games. Jon Hood from Madisonville North Hopkins has the only chance to beat him. Hood scored 15 and 31 in his two games this week. If my calculations are correct, Hood needs to score 64 points in his regional game to average 30.20 and win the scoring title. If they play two more games, he would need 95 points for the two games. I think Bryan should win the scoring title given these scenarios.

I was shocked to see Pittman's rebound average around five. He should pull down 10 plus without breaking a sweat.

Without knowing exactly, I am willing to bet that Hood plays against much tougher competition than Bryan does. So, even if Hood doesn't win the scoring title, his numbers are much more impressive than Bryan's is which is why Hood is going to UK and Bryan probably more like DIII or NAIA.

He hangs out on the perimeter too much IMO. But with that said, he is a major prospect who can get it done. He could average a 20/10 each night if he would go in the paint more.

Elijah Pittman is number 3 in scoring, number 2 in offensive rebounds, number 2 in blocks in NKY and according to the votes for 9th region player of the year he isn't even the best player on his team, amazing.

He hangs out on the perimeter too much IMO. But with that said, he is a major prospect who can get it done. He could average a 20/10 each night if he would go in the paint more.

He could and they have been trying to get him on the post, in the district tournament he seemed to get frustrated at time because he was on the post, in deep, with leverage and they wouldn't get him the ball. The only player who makes a concious effort to feed him the rock is Ricardo. You gotta keep the big fella happy or he will start pressing, taking ill-advised shots, commiting silly fouls to try to get out on a break, or he will be back hanging out on the wing. It is a part of maturing and growing up as well as showing being patient. But when he is down there working, he needs to get involved, he is tough to stop.

I agree. When he is working hard down there, they need to get him the ball. Holmes was very effective in the second half of the B'wood game when they started running the offense through him on the post. He's able to get the opposing teams' post players in foul trouble, while also opening things up outside for the rest of his teammates to either take the 3 or get in the lane for easy shots. Pittman needs to be touching the ball on every possession IMO. If he stayed in the post more, he'd easily average a double double. One thing I do think he, along with the other Holmes players need to improve on though, is moving more without the ball.

I thought Kellen Smith's rather large lead in the assist column surprised me as I thought the assist battle across NKY was much closer than that. That only leads me to think that Kellen may have been the best PG in NKY this year in terms of being a pure PG

I'm not sure Smith is there just yet. I'd still probably give Riley the advantage as the best "pure" PG. Smith is solid, but IMO just doesn't have the instinct and ability to take over a game yet, like Riley does. Riley's all around game separates him from Smith. With that being said though, I'd say Smith will be the best PG in nky next year and by his senior year will be one of the top 10-15 PG in the state.
