I know the thread got off track a little earlier but today I did find out that MOSS (RYLE?), Sandlin (BOONE) and DAVIS (BOONE) will all play summer in Lakota. :idunno: (IMO), I would think anyone roaming (free) in the NKY area, that wanted the opportunity to showcase or play at the “Sweet 16” in 2010, would lean toward or investigate playing in the 8th region because of its weaknesses. (Lots of beating up goes on in the 10th with so many great school programs.) Who knows about being allowed to play here or there anymore? Did you read about HIGHLANDS and the KHSAA in today’s paper? :popcorn:

Still feel that SK is the team to beat in the 8th. "DEFENSE" and very stong core returns with Wainscott, Ponser and Brown. SK physically tookover the 8th in this years tourney and those three were very physical. If you saw the final game Brown took everything Anderson slammed at her. If you don't have it locked in a safe Ponzer will steal it! Wainscott will be able to be more on the scoring side than assist side with CT gone. :eek: Height will be their challenge. Losses are big. Smith played her best season ever and the Figgins(s) were great to bounce back after repeated injuries. They have some size returning from injury in Pace-11, Blevins-10, Orr-9, who could be the deciding factor. Stowers always gets the most out of his pool. Very close in 2010 but SK still has close edge this early. IMO :popcorn:

Don't overlook SK, they seem to have the uncanny ability to play to the level of any opponent. :idunno:

Defense was great but it was ugly to watch. Dodged a bullet on foul troubles. Not usually the way SK does it. Great "D" off the bench when Ponzer / Tolliver went out while Smitty hung in to the very end with 4. FT's very big in this game. Great example for other coaches to impress the importance of FT's on their players. Very different type of team from those in the last month or so for Lady Pioneers! Thank you for furthering your explanation. I just like to know how the thought process works. Sometimes in our own world, we are a little sheltered and it is hard to see the big picture so, we will enjoy watching Tolliver and others play.

Read carefully my previous comments. I have been asking why she is not in the conversation, and what is the criteria to be considered? I'll be the first to admit that I haven't seen all the contenders play. With that being said, the ones I have seen are usually held in check by Ms. Tolliver and she is not held in check by any of them. :idunno: Please help me understand. What a performance tonight by SK. Frustrated Anderson from the tipoff. L. Figgins stepped up to fill for her sister and did a great job, Brown put up 14 and took 2 charges, Smith was great off the boards, Ponzer was everywhere Anderson did not want her to be, and I cannot say enough about the guard play of Tolliver and Wainscott! The score doesn't reflect how one-sided this contest really was. I still cannot understand how Tolliver is not in the mix for Ms. KY GBB. I wish I knew how that process works because this kid has shut down outstanding guards one after the other and still averages 20+ game . :idunno::confused: You had to see it to believe it. I think SK's TOP 6 sat out the entire 4th except Brown played about 1/3 of it. SK All-Tourney: Tolliver - Tourney MVP L. Figgins (OOPS, forgot the 3rd.) I'll get it posted. I understand. However, I feel CT should be in the mix for KY Ms. simply for the fact that she is such a great players on both sides of the ball. If you look at her defense against the outstanding guard players she has faced the last two seasons alone, I feel there is a case there. Opposing guard play has been all but shut down. I may be wrong but will go back and check the SK games against Webb, Bradley, Sandfoss, Jackson, Kitchen, Allen, the young guards from Franklin-Simpson in last years S16 and I am sure many others not on the tip of my mind. In those match-ups CT continued her scoring and all but shut down the scoring threat of opposing teams (with the help of Wainscott this year and Connelly last year.) I know there are other considerations and would like to now what they are but this is a good start. As I am only a student of the game, what keeps her from being in a conversation about KY Ms.? :idunno: Just educating myself on how the system / process works.

My dad always said that there are two things you can never change in a contest.."the conditions of the field of play and the officials." Both teams are can only adjust to each other. I will say congrats to Boone! At one time Sandlin-Davis-Setters (BCS), Wainscott-Brown (SK) started AAU together and you could see then that they would all rise to the ocassion at the HS level! Just wish I could be in several places at one time tonight! I'll go on a limb and say Lady Rebs (BOK) and Lady Pioneers (S.OLDHAM) in VERY close games!!!!:eek:

Not sure. Rumor (only rumor) has it her sister Lindsey, will start in her place with Brown remaining as 6th man. Only wish the best for her and her family!!! :ylsuper:

Don't understand? Reason? SK is about the most "low key" team I have ever seen. If anything they are the best - nicest team on the court. (IMO) Several teams have flat out physically attacked SK this season until the officials (on some occasions) set the limits. Several times this season you could just about see the "blue smoke and exaust" from the chainsaws thrown at them by frustrated teams. (My lame shot at humor!) :idunno: I will stand by this..."If SK wins tonight -vs- AC and has the oppertunity to return to Sweet 6...Chelsea Tolliver deseves very serious cosideration for Ms. KY Basketball." IMO …. HHS v. NCC Saturday evening. I hope that I will be at the 8th finals watching the Lady Pioneers however, if not, I would like to be at this one if it happens! :popcorn:

Last year ANDERSON - SK final was a great game. That would be my best guess at a challenge. The only region game outside of districts SK had this year was 13+ win over Shelby. I think the coach tried (for the most part) to keep the schedule high this season to push the girls.
