Simon Kenton will open the tournament play at Diddle Arena Wednesday at 6 against Breathitt Co. What are their chances?

I think they will do well in the early rounds but when you get down to the top four teams those teams are loaded. Iriquios, Mont. Cty, CAL. Some real powerhouses on your side of the bracket.

 

I do think SK got a really favorable draw but I don't like the fact Cait is hurt. She manages the middle very well with some physical play. SK always plays their best against the best so lets hope for some good stuff.

 

The winner of the E town LCA game is my pick to win it all.

I think SK can win a couple of games, then who knows. They are well coached and play hard.

I think Simon Kenton will win 2 games. Its a shame so many on the team have either recently gone down with serious knee injuries, or are just making it back from knee injuries.It has really hurt their bench,and as panda stated taken a defensive force in Caitlynn Figgins. It seems these days every team has a player or 2 out with bad wheels.

Breathitt defeated Ohio Co. by 15 in Lex Cath Tourney; lost to Rowan by 7 at Rowan, split with Johnson Central; lost two to Clay in close games

Looks like they had two common opponents in Conner and LexCath. Breathitt 0-2 vs those opponents, SK 3-0, it won't mean much when the ball is tipped but apparently SK was better on those three nights.

Sk has shown an tendancy to start off slowly and gain momentum without tightening up snd shutting down in tourney play. They have been able to work through it so far, but the higher up the competitive ladder you go in the lose-and-go-home state tourney scenario, the more important it is to get off to a good start. (For those of us who need reminding of this, just refer back to final games for Anderson Co. and South Oldham in the 8th region tourney.) Hopefully, SK will carry the 8th region banner deeper into the Sweet-16 than has recently been the case.

Good News Update on Cait!!!!!!!!

 

As you probably heard, Caitlyn injured her knee in the semifinal game against Oldham County on Friday night. An initial examination indicated a possibly torn ACL. Cait saw Figgins Team physician Dr. Angelo Colosimo yesterday and I am happy to report that Dr. C indicated that her ligaments were all tight. He ordered an MRI that was conducted this morning and it confirmed his diagnosis. He was concerned about her meniscus but they also looked fine in the MRI. There is a chance that Cait may be back on the floor this week in Diddle roaming the paint! She is thrilled and thanks everyone for your prayers!

 

Hopefully we will get to see Cait picking off passes at Diddle.
