Franklin was supposed to be rebuilding this year and YOUNG. Getting some experience for the next three years to make a serious run. Then all they did was keep winning and getting that experience as they went. Wasn't always pretty but just kept winning. They have a really nice program being built and should be in the conversation for the next several years. All that being said, I'd be surprised if this game close in the second half. If Boyle doesn't turn it over I think they win by 3 or 4 scores !

When qb dropped down trying to possess it the qb’s back was too him and I think he just assumed he had covered it when he obviously hadn’t. Just really bad quick whistle. Terrible call.

It's true. I played against him. I was a Jr and I think he was in 3rd or 4th grade and we were the same height.

I didn't think the whistle came from the white hat. Seemed like side judge, but not sure. I was blown when the qb first dropped on the ball to try and control it but never did. Really quick bad whistle. I agree with Paul Dean, I'd be livid also. Really bad call.

That was not the point I was making. I was wondering about him getting the Male job after a 17-16 record at PRP, then not being a head coach, then getting a job of that quality. He can obviously coach with a winning record against Trinity and St. X while at Male. Wondering if he went from PRP to an assistant at Male for those two years.

The dynamics of that talent pool has changed though, and not for the better for Male. Makes the job a little less appealing, but just a little.

Heard the rumors before the season started. But I think they were just assumed through association. Male coach getting his public school years in at the same time a rival private HC was stepping down. Then heard Haddix about 5 or 6 weeks ago so, who knows.

Pulaski has rushed for 2700+ yards on the season and Atherton has allowed 201 on the season. Pulaski has only passed for about 300 yards since losing their starting QB. If Pulaski cannot run the ball, it could be a long night. If they can, I think it goes down to the wire.

Have to root for Coach Smith and Coach Smith but I think this game is an absolute coin toss. Ryle, the '24 state runner up for 6A is in the mix every year. I also think they are similar teams. Both teams are always physical and bring the aggression. I think Ryle needs Savage to stay in it. We shall see. Rooting for SW but should be a dandy.

Congrats to CC and especially Harney. Got sick of seeing him almost exactly a year ago rush for 7 or 8 yards a carry and help stop Boyle from 5 in a row. But he is a heck of a football player and had a great career. CC is a storied program, is well coached and always plays hard. This was a 1 score game with 11 min. left in the game. I honestly thought the 4A title chase was a 3 horse race between CC, Highlands and Boyle. Sure didn't think I'd see a school single game record set tonight. Congrats to that young man. The narrative all year for Boyle has been that they just don't have many of the offensive play makers that they have had in the most recent seasons, but their defense was as good as it's been in a while. That may actually be true but JiDyn Smith-Hisel set a record tonight that may stand for a WHILE at Boyle County.

I said previously but will say again. I definitely think Highlands wins this game, but I don't think it will be as easy as some other think.

I agree that it is all relative...to a point. But 6A's big three is probably a little bit bigger than the other classes. 50, I think, State titles amongst them.

I really like 3rd round of the playoffs, but I think the Semi's are just a hair better. The cream rises to the top as each week goes and something about the semi-finals seems to be special. With re-seeding now it's a little less but I still really like it.

Come on down. Pretty nice stadium. Concession stand is average, but there is usually a bbq food truck that is outstanding. I'm expecting a really nice crowd given the last two years and excitement of where both programs are sitting and their chances of another title. I don't expect a Boyle/Corbin '23 crowd, but I think it will be a very good one.

Pietrowski is really good but Corbin this year doesn't use him on offense. Doesn't fit into the scheme, I guess. Waste of a talented young man.
