  1. I like the attitude and energy that Bathiany brought to LexCath. New coach may be as good or even better, we will see. But LexCath isn't pulling the kids it used to pull either. I think they are fortunate to have dropped to 3A.
  2. Getting back to the game, I think Highlands may actually win pretty big.
  3. So which of the top 4 do they compete with very well? JC, Corbin, CovCath, Boyle or all of the above?
  4. The two Death Valley Bowl games on Friday at the new Lincoln turf field. Garrard vs. Green Co. Casey vs. Lincoln Co. Saturday Bullitt East vs. Woodford Co. at Mercer County Bowl Game.
  5. I think Boyle will be ready but I do not think this is a game they can play poorly and win. I think they come out of the gate better than they have in the past.
  6. Trinity Bullitt East Bowling Green FD Ashland
  7. I like Boyle's chances but it will not be a walk. Corbin's QB is very good. Had a BIG season last season as a soph. I like what Bardstown did last season but I don't think they have anything for Boyle, Corbin, CovCath or Johnson Central.
  8. Yep, probably should have been changed a while ago. But good change.
  9. Ballards run D was pretty stout last year. They are usually pretty tough to run against. That makes a tough game for SW in my opinion as they rely on their run game for the most part. I'll take Ballard.
  10. The Chargers have work to do. They have a lot of inexperience on the offensive side of the ball. But they have some big effort guys also. Just need reps and work. I think the defense is stiff enough to give the O a good shot this week. I'll take the Chargers by 10.
  11. There is no "Big 4". I was just basking in the glow of the Chargers State Title just a couple of more weeks before the new season actually starts. It would take Douglas, Manual, Ballard or dare I say Bullitt East, at least 8-10 years of challenging for a title for any of them to enter into the "Big" discussion. But, you have to start somewhere. Good luck to all of the 6A teams this year.
  12. I don't think that offense fit very well with the team they had last year but I haven't watched or kept up with Central Hardin much the last several years. Maybe it has more in the past. Plus, that coach knows more than I do. My comment was based mostly on the sheer size of many of the CH players from last years team and thought it could have been used better. But again, I'm not a coach. Just another opinion.
  13. I meant defensively. Anyway, that's why you play scrimmages. To find out what you need to work on. Good luck to both teams going forward.
  14. I think there are MANY more companies that now offer this product than there were 25 years ago. I also think the product is better than it used to be, which is good. It will be interesting to see how many years before schools start going back to natural grass.
  15. Bullitt East only shows 8 games but they are also playing Louisville Central and Meade County. Not sure why they are not showing up.
  16. Sometimes it's just a necessity. But ideally if you can keep you interior 5 olinemen and your front 4 Dlinemen from going both ways I think it's best. I personally think it matters with the big guys more than your skill players. But that's just my opinion.
  17. I agree. I've got nothing against Rock but I've been hearing about young talent coming up for more than a decade. I do think they will be better than last year but make a big step up seems like wishful thinking....again. But time will tell and maybe I'll be proven wrong.
  18. KHSAA football 2023: Top Louisville, Kentucky high school d-linemen (courier-journal.com) Glad to see Isaiah Hare getting some good copy. I think he has a big year. Bullitt East will be defensively lead this year and he will anchor that D.
  19. Big 4? Do you mean Trinity, X, Male and Bullitt East?
