Do you think Week 3, Regional Championship Week, is the best week of the high school football season?

For me it is.   I love the first couple weeks because all the bowl games host a lot of premium matchups.  And of course championship weekend is always good for all the marbles.

But week three always has a ton of really good games and it is win or go home so it means more than the same type of games in the bowl weeks.  There’s at least a dozen games I would like to attend this weekend.

The start of the season is awesome, this week is awesome, the semi-finals are awesome, but for me Championship Weekend is the best week of Kentucky High School Football!

I agree with everything G said above.  But for me I look forward to Semi-Finals Week the most.  You know you are off work due to Thanksgiving.  You have a whole weekend after that should be pretty open as well.

And that Friday is all about the game.  No going to work and then rushing to get to the game.

That's a special atmosphere.  It's still at a high school stadium and the last week at high school stadiums for the season.

Everyone wants to win the trophy, but to make it to Black Friday is pretty special in my book too.

Opening weekend. Completely inclusive, every single program is excited. The previous year's work is coming to fruition and everyone is happy. At that moment "Life is Good" for everyone. It's either uphill or downhill from there depending on how good your team is. But week one is good for all of us. The post season is great...for some of us.

I really like 3rd round of the playoffs, but I think the Semi's are just a hair better.  The cream rises to the top as each week goes and something about the semi-finals seems to be special.  With re-seeding now it's a little less but I still really like it.

For me, there is one practice that any of us who were lucky enough to be part of, as a player, coach, or parent, that really sticks out, and we talk about for years...

Thanksgiving practice.

Simply magical. My vote goes to the Semi's.

Mr Guru I totally agree with your statement!

I think semifinals and championship are the best. Sometimes because of RPI the two best teams meet in semifinals. Also, the not so good teams that make the third round because of two weak districts are eliminated to where semifinals has all good teams.

I read "cream rises to the top" in a macho man Randy Savage voice in my head. I agree semi's is great because the top teams are showing. But, I do like the third round for some teams to make an upset and put the state on alert!

When I typed it, I also said it in the Macho Man's voice.
