Would love to see Fugate win Mr. Football. I don't know much about teams in the other end of the state or Northern KY, but would expect Bell County to be in the mix. Just out of curiosity and out of the norm...are there any defensive players or linemen that could compete for the title of Mr KY?

Acutally it says 4.45. Good balance & hands, runs with power. 4.45: idunno: I didn't see him ever break away for a 70 or 80.

Eddie Creech was a standout QB/DB at Cumberland High School, graduated (I believe in 2003). He is currently teaching at JACES and an assistant coach at HCHS. Knows both sides of the ball very well for a young coach. Well respected by the young men.

I would love to see Eddie Creech groomed for the Harlan County Job.

I think this topic is more about generating events for the center to help pay it's way than what's best for the student athletes. The center and the businesses of the City of Corbin are the only winners. Hosting a regional tournament is a highlight for any town & school involved, an opportunity that only comes around once in a blue moon. I'm all for the center and the City of Corbin. Corbin has come a long way as a community in a short period of time. But I don't see handing the tournament year after year to this center and that community.

I'll swap with you, especially if Blake's in town.

I have been a little occupied and am just getting back into things..... I look for a few of the kids to have special years...... Ball...Man Child Dylon Smith...has a pair of rocket boosters attached to him James Phillips..See comments on Ball One kid I look for phenominal results out of is Jordan Calton. Jordan has the frame and raw talent, if he can pack weight on, to be as good as anyone from around here in a long time.

Thanks, for your support and comments Ram. Personally, I don't see doing it by unit. The best unit does not necesarily contain the best pleyers by position. They name all of the "talent" kids by name...regardless of school, it's time WYMT get on the ball and get these line players some recognition. They do a unbelievable awsome job all through the year covering mountain sports, then put out a letdown like this. Get it right or don't do guys....You cover every position but the line.:madman:

If WMT is going to continue this list they need to start recognizing OL & DL by individuals and not by team. Not recognizing these men is the stupidest thing ever......yet they continue not to do so. Why would you give the skill positions recognition by name and leave out the linemen? The accomplishments of the skill players are made possible by linemen on the offsesive side. The defensive team also needs to be listed by position. JMO

With all due respect to both sides......LW has gotten a bit overzealous with his comments...but to suggest all of Fugate's fans are stuck in a place of rabbit ears and don't have the ability to find to game in the big city of Louisville is a bit offensive to all of east KY. Contrary to popular belief there have been plenty of fans from east KY find their way to "the big city" and left with a championship trophy. Fugate is the real deal. I don't know if he can beat Central by himself (probably not). Is he as good as the other players mentioned Central has played against? I don't know. But he is by far the best running back in our rabbit eared, can't find our way around little world, and I suspect he may be as good as anyone in the state. Good luck to both teams.
