David Abbott resigned today as head football coach at North Laurel. Who are some potential candidates for his replacement?

 

 

Not sure if any coaches with teams still in the playoffs would want to apply at this time. There are several local head coaches and top assistants that may throw their name in the hat once their season is complete.

He may have left the oven full for the next coach, it seems he had a lot of young talent carrying the load this year.

I agree 100%. There's actually been pretty good talent at North Laurel for a while now. North Laurel has an excellent feeder program. Coach Carloftis and his staff do an excellent job at NLMS. I think NL simply needs to find the right coach to get them "over the hump" and get them going in the right direction.

 

I think with the recent pay hike that that the BOE gave the coaches, NL should have some good applicants to choose from. Good Luck to the NL administration in finding the right fit.

Would Duncam be interested in returning?

They should consider the new assistant coach Allen. He was at Southwestern for years and is an outstanding coach. They haven't played much defense since he left.

Hate that it didn't work out well for Coach Abbott; he's a super guy.

Coach Allen would make a great Head Coach.

NL played very little defense this year so I would not think Allen is a good choice. This job may attract some current Head Coaches.

I agree. I could see a few coaches at smaller schools being attracted to the position. It would be a chance to coach at a large school, lots of talent, great place to play and a community hungry for success. I am sure some will inquire in due time.
