Greg Coldiron named Lafayette coach

Featured Replies

According to ch 27 Greg Coldiron has been named the new coach at Lafayette. He has coached at Cawood, Powell Co, Russell Co and assistant at Lafayette.

Best of luck Coach Coldiron.

Ole Harlan County boy takes the reigns.......

Best of luck coach.

Good luck to Coach Coldiron. I always felt like he got a bad deal in Cawood. He has always been around the game and now will get his chance to prove himself against the best in Central Kentucky. Lafayette is one of the most storied programs in Lexington.

He got a bad deal in Powell too. Took them to the state tournament and run out of town the next year.

Good luck to Coach Coldiron.

Congrats to Coach Coldiron. He will do a great job at Lafayette!

Congrats to Coach Coldiron, I enjoy working UK camp with him. Great guy who will do a good job.

I played under Coach Coldiron, he’s a great coach. I wish the best of luck to you.

Good Luck Coach Coldiron. I am so glad you got the job. You were always so good to me when you were the coach at Cawood and I really enjoyed traveling with you and your family. I have quit using a pen have started using a pencil. Your friend.

Wasn't Coach Coldirion also the head coach at Maysville High School back in the day? Seems like he was there one or two years back in the 80s.

He was at Maysville for one season (1985).

I thought that name was familiar:thumb:

I remember Coach Coldiron when he was at Russell Co. I think he left Russell Co. for Powell Co. he has done a good job wherever he has been.

Lafayette will be back in the mix real soon with this hire!

Yes, they will be back in the mix, but not as a good team. They will be in the mix of programs that are looking to hire a new coach in about 2 years. That is how much time that I will give him. He got fired at Cawood, then he got fired at Russell Co., then he got fired at Powell Co. I would guess that the trend will continue.
