True state champion or not. If you're really a proponent of young people then you would have a class system. I've coached at both types of schools and understand the trials of both. I realize that it will always be negated by the KHSAA because of money. Money is what the entire state tournament is about for the KHSAA young people are second.

Nepotism surely still isn't alive and well in Kentucky education. I couldn't agree more with how much of a ridiculous hire.

Hustle, mechanics etc. are understood. Court demeanor!! Understanding the flow of the game. A lot of officials have never played the game and don't understand how to manage it without being seen.

I always said "I can take the best basketball player and make him any type of at least average player in another sport" We used to have to wrestle the wrestling team in gym class and most basketball players would hold their own or win against varsity guys. How about Labron James as a wide receiver or tight-end?

Scott county boys. If coach will always have the same quasi teaching position as the current coach.

I've coached in both situations. I didn't really understand the magnitude of the difference until I was in the small school situation. If it was all about the kids it would be a no brainer to go to classes. However, as usual in most school decisions, it's not about the kids. That's the same reason we have county schools and not small schools. Bigger is not always better, unless you're talking about a school becoming dominate in competition. The number of kids that miss out on the experience of participating is a travesty. I've only touched on the tip of the sinking iceberg called public education.

The best player at Scott Co. hasn't even been mentioned. Richie Phares is and will be best college player. Much quicker and better shooter than Dakotah. All he needs is some weight and the sky's the limit for him.

He must really want to get into college coaching. I doubt very much that the pay is even close to high school pay.

Hopefully the new coach will be able to overcome the administration. They have some very good young talent and if they play defense could definitely make some noise in the 11th. To Coach Cooksey, watch your back.

Yes basketball will go on, but I bet there isn't anyone that will work harder than Rick. If there was a problem he could always be reached and was never hesitant to listen to both sides. Not to mention that I was always glad to see him in the gym with stripes on as a coach. Many officials would be much better if they developed the demeanor that Rick had when blowing the whistle.

I agree with stability factor too. Coach Tiller does a great job and if he has some horses look out.
