Congrats from all in Rebel land!

Hard to talk any smack when we are 0-7. I am concerened the new coach will have a hard time with this kind of start. Maybe a win will get their swagger back. Hard to put all the blame on football when we have several kids that did not play football. Some of those kids need to step up and have not. Major disapointment at this point.

If we had to pick a team number one right now it would have to be Lincoln Co. because of consistency and coaching. And, oh by the way they have won the region the last two years and until someone can knock them off when it counts (region), you have to put them at the top.

I don't think we have a number one team in the region right now(Dec.). We have several teams that could stake claim as number two.

When do our freshman play their next home game?

It was a very quite crowd purplepride. We talked more about football than this boring game. Hats off to Southwestern for what I thought was a good defensive game. I think we will have a hard time scoring a bunch all season. Very good athletes but not much basketball skill was my take. It looks like the next skilled players are probably our freshman class.

I agree with your comment coach 13. That is exactly what I said about several of the players not being interested in the game. They just did not seem to care. I know that our football season just ended for several of them and that could have been part of it.

You are absolutely right about this coach Southern Sports Fan. Last year at the regional finals against Lincoln Co. he and his players walked off the floor without shaking hands with the Lincoln players and coaches. It was a complete turnoff and the worst sportsmanship I have ever witnessed.

Wow! We are 0-5 and only scored 28! Someone tell me that the coaching change is not the dumbest thing that has happened to Boyle Co. It was the first game that I have seen this year and they were completly lost! We still have football players not ready but the ones that played tonight are not the same guys that I watched last year and thought that we could win a region with. We will probably not make it out of our district!

Wow! Good defense by the jumpers. He scored 21 against East Jess. and will probably be one of our leading scorers this year. I have to say I am kind of surprised by this score even without the football players. I was talking to one of our assistant coaches yesterday and he was telling me how many players graduated from Somerset and even without the football players it was a game they could win. Congrats Somerset and your new coach. Hopefully we will have some football players come out and get us going.

Did Corey Jones play? I really liked the way he played last year.

Wow! I was afraid that this might happen. I have seen what our girls program is going through and I was afraid that it would happen to our boys. I went and watched our middle school boys play Danville the other night and they were terrible. We do not have much help coming up for the next 3 years. Thank goodness we have a good football team again with Coach French!

They might just be the best team in the region.

I really liked Garrard last year and their new coach. I thought they lost their best player from last year(point guard), until they can get past Lincoln and Boyle when it counts(district) it is hard to give them any more respect. They choked against Boyle last year in the district in a game I thought we would get beat and I think we won by 20. A new year and anything can happen but I still put them third in the district.

I have to agree with dreamland and alwaysascottie. Mcreary has not been to the region the last couple of years and been ranked pretty high. I would say anything less than a regional final would be considered a disapointment for Rob Jones and company. I have been to see Boyle and Mercer the last 3 years and I think Boyle won all 3 games. I told my wife when we left last year that I thought Mercer had more talent than Boyle every year but we always beat them. It must be a difficult job with the consolidation!

I might save my money and sit this one out. No contest!

I think we have a great team this year compared to what has happened the last 3 or 4 years, but if we are the best team outside of Louisville, football is way down in Kentucky. Our defense is great,offense not as good as past state champions.

I agree with you heartbreaker that Woods is the best coach in the 12th region. He has been there longer and taken his teams to the state numerous times. I think you meant to say Jeff Jackson for Lincoln, I think they have had some nice players coming thru but I also think that he has done a great job of developing players such as Spurlin. I watched him once this summer and he will probably be the best player in the region this year. I think that Coach Jackson has kids loving basketball at Lincoln and that has not always been the case. And finally to say that Boyle is in unison finally is not a correct statement. We have won 3 of the 4 districts, been to the state tournament with a regional championship and been regional runner-ups in Coach Bottoms 4 years as coach. You are correct there is a reason he is gone and the word is "politics" and a few parents that were not satisfied with their kids playing time. Our new coach has a lot to prove and I am hearing nice things about him but in reality he is 0-0 as our head coach. He has some big shoes to fill.

I am sorry but I just do not get it with McCreary being picked to win the region. They have to prove that they can get there first, then I think not having the experience of playing in a regional atmosphere will really come into play.I am just not sold that they have the coaching staff of a Lincoln Co.,West Jessamine or Wayne Co. I am a Boyle fan and those are my top 3 teams with Boyle fourth and McCreary five. I would have Boyle higher but I agree with the swami, we will miss coach bottoms more than most realize.

We also have the kid from Lincoln County who sat out last year, I cannot think of his name. He is suppore to be a pretty good shooter. I heard at last nights football game that several of the football players are not coming out. They think that the new coach already has his picks. We may not be as deep. I also heard that Aumiller more than likely will have to have surgery, when is still up in the air.

Dreamland, I am just saying i think that they were blowing smoke.My point was and you would agreethat they got his head and it was probably a scare tatic.I agree with you that there is more to the story that we don't know. The parents got what they wanted and we may never hear the rest of the story. I have not heard about the point guard????What happened there?

Amen! I agree. I understand him being punished for missing practice but he did play in every game. I just don't understand why the administration is not supporting him more. This just all seems so silly!
