Most of the talk here has been that Highlands is the best team in KY not named Saint X or Trinity (and some would even debate whether Trinity is definitely better than HHS). But is there a chance that Boyle County is actually the best team in KY ouside of Louisville??? They have the talent, tradition and coaching, that's for sure. Well???

JB It's nice to dream and think about this but I'll be quick and to the point NO! Yes we are a good team, but so are alot of other teams. The best team outside of the Ville is.......... remember this JB? (a JB quote from the past) "Chirp Chirp Baby!

I had the same argument back in the early championship days of the Rebels. We ended up playing a couple of times for some hardware and it all equalled out in the end.

I would love to be in the same district as the Birds just for the shear competitiveness. Wouldn't that be awesome to have a couple of state powerhouses challenging each other year after year (other than X-Tinity). I know the Rebels have tremendous respect for the birds.

As far as who's the better of the two, my opinion would be the same as when we use to play- whoever showed up to play and wanted it more that particular night. Play hard and we wish you good luck throughout the tournament.:ylsuper:

I think Highlands is better than Boyle. Doesn't matter but I do think they are better. Don't forget about Bell.

Wow... great memory! As a reminder, however, the year I wrote that phrase the 'Birds went 0-2 vs. Boyle County H.S. and 0-3 vs. teams from Boyle County!!!

You can't really compare scores but I think that one there answers the question of who's better this year.

 

Honestly I'm not so sure Highlands isn't the best team in the state at this point with the way they've been clicking lately. Their defense has shut out some VERY good teams.

They are 2nd to Bell in their own class. Bell's body of work this season is one of the best in a long time. Just for instance, Bell beat Whitley Co and Sheldon Clark (combined record 17-3) by a combined score of 76-8. While Coach French clearly has Boyle back to their accustomed success, they would be hard pressed to beat Bell. I hope I get out to see it.

HHS is a better team. Not to take anything away from Boyle. I too hope we see Boyle vs. Bell but Boyle has to beat LC and Bell has no pushovers in its way in KC and Rock. Boyle has the easiest road b/c the other 6 teams in their region are not very good.

I wouldn't go that far as easiest Leonidas. After all the defending state Campion and currently #3 rank team is in our district, not Region. I'll be glad to trade our road to Louisville with anybody else in 4A. Any takers?

Highlands is better than Boyle. Luckily, we only have to worry about 4A, and Pendleton Co this week.

I'm with Rebel on this,Boyle is not the best team (outside of Louisville)but they are good and just trying to take one game at a time and get better as they do so.
