Southwestern plays good soild defense and gets the W against the Rebels. Things are starting to take shape with the Warriors now they are finely starting to work as a team.

It was the first game that I have seen this year and they were completly lost! We still have football players not ready but the ones that played tonight are not the same guys that I watched last year and thought that we could win a region with. We will probably not make it out of our district!

Did Jordan Aulmiller play? The outcome of this game really surprised me.

Yes he did play, but he did not look very interested.

I agree with your comment coach 13. That is exactly what I said about several of the players not being interested in the game. They just did not seem to care. I know that our football season just ended for several of them and that could have been part of it.

It pretty much was! Boyle had a hand full of fans and Southwestern had a very few. Boyle's student section was there but Coach Schulz made more noise coaching than they did.

Don't jump ship or anything. Especially since the whole season is so dependent on the first 5 games. Last night was our first home game and we won't be at home again until January. I have seen every game but the Rockcastle game and my synopsis on last night's game is that we didn't make shots and Corey Jones didn't play either. It is going to take some time for the boys to.......

 

1) get used to the new coach

 

2) get over the football hangover

 

3) develop on court chemistry

 

These things will not happen in the first 5 games. Probably not even the first 10, but as time goes on things will get better. We were supposed to be in Louisville playing football and we already had plans on canceling this game. And then to find out Bell County won by 2 and that was one of the top stories at the game......things are going to take time. The freshman and jv teams have been fine as the jv has lost only once to Franklin County and the Freshman opened up their season with a 72-52 win over East Jessamine. For now I say it isn't the coaching, it's just going to take some time and patience. Looking at scores across the region, I still believe that Boyle County can win region. The talent is definitely there as we now have become a very deep team with the football players on the team now. Hang in there, it isn't even Christmas yet.

I was disappointed in the noise from the student section and from Boyle County fans that weren't students. I felt like if I would've yelled I would've gotten escorted out of the building or something. Very wine and cheese crowd atmosphere last night and considering how close the game was, who knows, maybe a little more spirit from the crowd could've given the boys a boost. I felt bad for the cheerleaders who couldn't even get us to respond to their cheers. I am guilty as well, but my kid wasn't playing last night and that will always get me yelling a little more, but considering how rowdy the student section was for a scrimmage, I was a little disappointed. I hope we can find a way to get a little more fired up.

The highlight of this game was when one of Southwestern's fans stood up with about 2 mins to go in the game and looked at the student section who were a bit noisey at the time and said "ya'll can set down now your job is done, we'll see you next time." and I be darned if they all didn't set down.

I was there and I don't think they were following orders from the fan, it was probably more coincidental than anything because I don't remember that sequence of events and it was quiet enough to have heard something like that from anywhere in the gym.
